Touch me Not

Inspired by the eponymous 18th century Austrian grimoire of the same name, "Touch me Not" is the transcendental meeting between psychedelic Space Rock and a Motör-charged Black Metal.

1979 saw The Enid move to Pye records. Having been given the biggest advance in the label's history, Godfrey made the smart move to purchase the recording equipment they needed to make their next album, Touch Me. A smart move, as the label collapsed shortly after. Touch Me continued the band's trajectory away from mainstream 'rock' music. Eschewing much of the 'hippies play the proms' sound of the previous two albums, and favouring more complex, densely layered piano and synthesizer compositions to tracks such as Gallivant and Albion Fair, the band sounded less like a rock band and more like accomplished classical musicians pushing the boundaries of the new electronic technology.

Another Dutton Vocalion's reissue combines a pair albums of Charlie Rich, remastered from the Original Master tapes by Michael J. Dutton. "Behind Closed Doors", from 1973, received the Country Music Association award for Album of the Year and Rich was named Best Male Vocalist for his performance on the album. Rich won the 1974 Grammy for Best Country Vocal Performance Male and also took home four Academy of Country Music awards for this album. "Everytime You Touch Me (I Get High)" was released in 1975, and the title track peaked at number three on the country chart.

Touch Me Tease Me is a single released in support of the 1996 remake of The Nutty Professor. The song by Case featured two rap verses from Foxy Brown and background vocals from single Mary J. Blige. It became the only big hit Case had.

With Ali-Ollie Woodson's polished vocals, the Temptations scored a Billboard R&B Top 20 hit with "Do You Really Love Your Baby." Penned by Luther Vandross and Marcus Miller, the Tempts gratefully reap the rewards of Vandross' crafty style. Woodson and Ron Tyson switch off on lead. With a mixture of urban and pop rhythms, the single peaked at #14 after 15 weeks.

Real Gone Music and Second Disc Records continue their ongoing celebration of Johnny Mathis’ legendary catalog with a new expanded two-for-one CD and this one’s even more packed with signature Mathis songs than usual! 1976’s "I Only Have Eyes for You" and 1977’s "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me" both reunited Mathis with a pair of his favorite collaborators, producer Jack Gold and arranger Gene Page, for silky renditions of the day’s pop smashes as only Mathis could deliver them. Page brought the same style of lush orchestration he perfected with Barry White to these sets featuring songs by the top songwriters of the day including Neil Sedaka (“The Hungry Years”), Alan O’Day (“Do Me Wrong, But Do Me”), Stephen Sondheim (“Send in the Clowns”), Marvin Hamlisch (“One”), and the team of Michael Masserand Gerry Goffin (“Do You Know Where You’re Going To,” “I Always Knew I Had It in Me”).
