"Born to Run" was Bruce Springsteen's third studio album and his commercial breakthrough success. Released in 1975, the album featured two singles: "Born to Run" and "Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out". The songs "Thunder Road" and "Jungleland" also became hits and are staples of Springsteen's live show to this day. The album was almost universally praised by critics, and peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart in 1975. It has been certified triple-platinum by the RIAA as of 1986, and Rolling Stone magazine ranked it at #18 on its list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Like Elvis Presley, Bob Dylan, Neil Young and a few others, Bruce Springsteen transcends the boundaries of the musical genre in which one would try to encase him. Over the years, the New Jersey kid has become a symbol, both musical and ideological. Following in the footsteps of his idol Dylan, the Boss embarked on often poignant snapshots of this crumpled star banner, of the often abused American dream, in short the chronicle of an America on the fringes, of which he remains one of the most sparkling ambassadors… Few musicians have an aura as developed with their audience as he does. Since the beginning of his career in the mid-70s, he has not stopped touring, tirelessly filling stadiums and the largest halls in the world. In his early 60s, the Boss always puts so much soul into his concerts and on record, which explains the constant interest that his many fans have.

The Rising is the twelfth studio album by American recording artist Bruce Springsteen, released on July 30, 2002 on Columbia Records. In addition to being Springsteen's first studio album in seven years, it was also his first with the E Street Band in 18 years. Based in large part on Springsteen's reflections during the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 attacks, the album predominantly centers upon themes of relationship struggles, existential crisis and social uplift.

The conquering heroes return. At the height of the Born In The U.S.A. tour, Bruce and the E Street Band come home to New Jersey for a six-show stand at Giants Stadium. The 8/22/85 performance delivers large-format editions of ten songs from the album, including "I'm Going Down," "Working On The Highway," "Glory Days," "Downbound Train" and the title track, along with "Seeds," "Atlantic City," "Trapped" "Pink Cadillac," "Cadillac Ranch" and "This Land Is Your Land."

Past and present unite as E Street Band members and special guests drop in on Bruce and the 1992-93 band at the penultimate show of the Human Touch/Lucky Town tour. A stirring 35-song set opens with a mini acoustic set and rolls on through key tracks from both albums plus a few rarities (“Satan’s Jeweled Crown”) before wrapping with an epic, 11-song encore extravaganza featuring Southside Johnny, Joe Ely, Little Steven, Max Weinberg, Soozie Tyrell, the Miami Horns and the Big Man himself.

Bruce and the E Street Band's two-night stand at the Bercy in Paris is considered one of the best stops on the 2012 European tour and merits companion releases. July 4, 2012 includes special Fourth of July performances of "Sandy" and a solo-piano "Independence Day." Night two at the Bercy in Paris sees Bruce change up the setlist dramatically, offering 15 different songs to night one, including an outstanding run of six to start the show: "The Ties That Bind," "No Surrender," "Two Hearts," "Downbound Train," "Candy's Room" and "Something In The Night."

As Fenway Park’s concert series gets into full swing, with five shows this week alone, it’s worth recalling who played the very first rock concert at Boston’s storied ballpark.

Bruce Springsteen once said he intended to make an album with words like Bob Dylan that sounded like Phil Spector where he sang like Roy Orbison, a nifty summary of many, but not all, of his artistic ambitions and a key to his appeal. Unlike any other singer/songwriters saddled with the appellation of "the new Dylan" in the early '70s, Springsteen never hid how he was raised on '60s AM radio.

In the opening weeks of his Devils & Dust solo tour, Springsteen returns to the Tower Theater outside Philadelphia, site of legendary E Street Band shows in the 1970s.
