Like Saturday Night Live, UFO have had plenty of creative ups and downs over the years but have often demonstrated that one should never give up on them. The veteran hard rockers have recorded some superb albums along the way, and they have recorded some weak, lackluster albums, too. But even when they let their followers down on occasion, UFO have had a way of bouncing back and giving those followers new reasons to be optimistic. The Visitor, it turns out, is a respectable 40th anniversary present from UFO, who were formed in 1969 and remained active 40 years later in 2009. This 2009 release finds two members of the original 1969 lineup (lead singer Phil Mogg and drummer Andy Parker) joined by keyboardist/guitarist Paul Raymond (a 1976 arrival) and guitarist Vinnie Moore, who didn't come on board until the 2000s…

For the first time ever, Michael Schenker returns to his classic years with UFO, revisiting the era that catapulted both him and the British hard rock band to international stardom. Produced by Michael Schenker and Michael Voss, the new album marks the 50th anniversary of Schenker's tenure with UFO, spanning from 1972 to 1978. Touring the globe as a teenager, Schenker became a driving force behind some of UFO's most beloved tracks, such as “Doctor Doctor”, “Rock Bottom”, and “Only You Can Rock Me”. During these meteoric years, the UFO albums 'Phenomenon,' 'Force It,' 'No Heavy Petting,' 'Lights Out,' 'Obsession,' and the seminal live album 'Strangers in the Night' were released, each contributing significantly to the genre. Now, Michael Schenker is set to celebrate those glory days with his new album, 'My Years with UFO,' alongside today’s rock elite.

Filmed live at the Oxford Apollo in 1985 to promote the new Misdemeanour album. Featuring the singles 'This Time' and 'Night Run', plus UFO classics 'Only You Can Rock Me' and 'Doctor Doctor'. UFO originally formed in 1969, around singer Phil Mogg, bassist Pete Way and drummer Andy Parker. Reaching a peak with 1978's 'Strangers In The Night', after five classic records featuring mercurial lead guitarist Michael Schenker, UFO carried on into the 1980s with Paul Chapman replacing Schenker. Although it seemed as if UFO had called it a day at the end of their 1983 tour to support the 'Making Contact' album, singer Phil Mogg put together a new look band for 1985's 'Misdemeanor' record. Eschewing the more guitar- driven hard rock that made their name during the previous decade, the latest album had a more keyboard driven sound, typical of the 1980s. The new look UFO featured Paul Gray on bass, Jim Simpson on drums, Paul Raymond from the classic 'Strangers In The Night' era line-up of the band - back in the fold after a stint with The Michael Schenker Group - handling rhythm guitar and keyboards, plus Atomik Tommy 'M' on lead guitar.

Vocalist Phil Mogg, guitarist Mick Bolton, bassist Pete Way, and drummer Andy Parker formed the British space metal outfit UFO in 1969. Originally known as Hocus Pocus, the group, which took the name UFO in honor of a London club, debuted in 1971 with UFO 1. Both the album and its follow-up, the same year's Flying, found great success in Japan, France, and Germany, but was barely noticed in the band's native country; as a result, their third effort, 1972's Live, was released only in Japan. In 1974, Bolton left the group; after brief trial runs with ex-Pink Fairies guitarist

The fine Germans at MIG (Made In Germany) bring you a classic Rockpalast (Rock Palace) UFO performance. Rockpalast is a world renowned German television series that began airing performances on their show in 1974 on the German television station Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR). The recordings are available in CD and DVD format. UFO’s rocking performance was filmed on November 29, 1980 at Westfalenhalle in Dortmund. The band consisted of Phil Moog (vocals), Pete Way (bass), Andy Parker (drums), Paul Chapman (guitar) and Neil Carter (guitar, keyboards). “Lettin’ Go” from No Place To Run, (their first post-Schenker album) gets the show off to a good start. Next up was “Long Gone,” which Moog announced it as a new song. It was featured on their next release, The Wild, the Willing and the Innocent in January 1981.
