Van der Graaf Generator were one of the most original and inspiring bands of the 1970s. This boxed set celebrates this second era of Van der Graaf Generator with all of the albums issued by the band between 2005 and 2016. Including the albums Present, Real Time, Trisector, Live At The Paradiso, A Grounding In Numbers, Alt, Merlin Atmos and the long deleted live double album and concert DVD ‘Live At Paradiso’ and the rare additional live CD previously issued only on the limited Japanese release of ‘Real Time’.

The pianist, composer, producer and renaissance musician Jeroen van Veen has played many concerts with both his wife Sandra and his brother Maarten, and has recorded with both of them for Brilliant Classics. The present compilation brings together a unique sequence of masterpieces for the genre in live and studio performances, made between 1992 and 2008, and given by the brothers as Piano Duo Van Veen.

World Premiere: First complete recording of the preserved works of R. Popma van Oevering! The highly talented young composer from Leeuwarden in the Dutch province of Friesland presented his opus 1 in around 1710. It was immediately published in Amsterdam and, as a result, its fame spread even to the circle around Bach. It can even be assumed that Bach let himself be inspired by these six “English” suites.

In his old age, Van Morrison dispensed with any lingering niceties he harbored, favoring bluntness over poetry. That transition is made plain by the title Latest Record Project, Vol. 1, a literal description of the album if not its contents. Latest Record Project, Vol. 1 is indeed Morrison's latest record project as of 2021 – it's called "Vol. 1" because he recorded more than enough to fill a second volume, a remarkable feat considering that this album contains 28 tracks and runs well over two hours – and if that doesn't hint at what the music within sounds like, it's also true that Van Morrison has stayed in his R&B lane for much of the 2010s…

An odd catalog repackaging timed to coincide with the spring 2015 release of Tokyo Dome in Concert, Van Halen's first-ever live album with David Lee Roth, Deluxe contains that two-disc set and adds the new 2015 remasters of Van Halen and 1984, all housed in a simple little box. It's an affordable way to get good-sounding remasters of two of VH's best, along with a solid latter-day live album, but the lack of so many other great Van Halen records only makes you wonder why this couldn't feature all of the band's Warner albums with Diamond Dave.
