Secular French 20th century choral music. Arsys Bourgogne embarks on a journey through the landscape of secular French 20th century choral music with Naissance de Vénus, a recording featuring emblematic repertoire such as the Trois chansons by Claude Debussy and Maurice Ravel, Un soir de neige by Francis Poulenc, as well as the Cinq rechants by Olivier Messiaen. Lesser known jewels, such as Joseph Canteloube’s Chants paysans, Darius Mihaud’s Naissance de Vénus and the virtuosic À contre-voix by Florent Schmitt round out this fine collection of French a cappella works.

The Alternate Venus And Mars is a 2004 bootleg CD by Paul McCartney. It contains alternate takes and versions of songs from his Venus And Mars album, as a way to hear it in a way that is unfamiliar. This was released on the Pear label.

TO VENUS AND BACK pairs a disc of studio tracks with a disc of live concert recordings. The first disc features some of Amos' most electronic-sounding productions to date. Though her acrobatic singing is given its usual full rein, many of the studio songs feature intricate, effects-rich orchestrations. The album-opening "Bliss" begins as a windswept soundscape, only to open up into a hook-laden chorus. "Juarez" is an intoxicating stew of disembodied voices, roiling synthesizers, and propulsive percussion. "Glory of the '80s" visits a night of drug-fueled hedonism during a decade that defined excess. "Josephine" is a standout track that will appeal to fans of Amos' more open, piano-centered work. The second disc culls tracks from Amos' 1998 Plugged Tour. The live rendering of "Cornflake Girl" is a particularly stirring affair, noteworthy for Amos' vocal bravura and for the cascading sheets of piano that she adds during the song's climax. Also featured is "Cooling," a track that Amos has never committed to album. No Tori Amos fan will want to be without TO VENUS AND BACK. Album was nominated for the 2000 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Performance.

"Venus in Overdrive" is the 14th studio album by rock musician Rick Springfield. According to an interview that Springfield gave to the website Songfacts, the title track was written about his wife, Barbara Porter, whom he married in 1984. The album spent two weeks on Billboard's album chart.

California multi-instrumentalist (but mainly pianist) Cheryl Gunn, wife of world-music flutist Nicholas Gunn, debuted with Vanity of Venus, an album filled with references to nature and highlighted by her piano.
