If you ask the average person in Hong Kong if they are familiar with the singer Susan Wong the chances are they’ll say ‘no’, yet Susan is one of the best selling Hong Kong artists throughout South East Asia. But If you talk to many serious music fans in South East Asia they’ll give rave recommendations of Susan, who has been labeled as the ‘Queen of audiophile’, for her soft and sultry vocal style and laid-back music that has won the hearts of her wide and diverse legion of loyal fans. From those audiophile enthusiasts who enjoy listening to fine recordings to young listeners who adore the heart touching love songs the one thing that unites all her fans is their knowledge that they’ve discovered Asia’s best kept secret. Susan Wong was born in Hong Kong and immigrated to Sydney, Australia with her family at the age of seven. Musically inclined from a young age, she learned to play the piano at age five and later she also learned the violin. At school in Sydney, she sang alto in the choir and appeared in the school dramas (Gilbert & Sullivan & the like) and entered a number of piano competitions. She received an associate diploma (ATCL) in piano from Trinity College London.

Putumayo presents Bossa Nova Around the World, the latest album in the label’s successful “Around the World” music series. Originating among a small collective of musical visionaries in the late 1950s, bossa nova helped bring the sounds of Brazil to the world. The recent success of artists such as Bebel Gilberto and the popularity of the bossa sound in the lounge and electronica music scenes demonstrate its continued appeal to contemporary musicians and audiences. On this collection, twelve artists from South America, North America, Asia, Africa and Europe creatively adapt this mellifluous musical style into their repertoires.

Eden Atwood has my vote for the best jazz vocalist today, and that doesn't need qualifying as best female, best young, best whatever ethnic or regional background, what I'm saying is I think she is the best jazz singer today period. I had the pleasure of hearing her live, doing many of these tunes, and she is warm, wonderful, funny, but most of all totally musical and artistically compelling…

Besides recording several respected EPs for Chain Reaction under the confusingly titled production concern known as Various Artists, Berlin's Torsten Pröfrock co-owns (with Sasha Brauer) Din Records, home to releases by excellent, respected producers Monolake, Pole, and Arovane. Pröfrock entered the Berlin electronics scene first by shopping at the Berlin record store Hard Wax while working toward his economics degree. By 1994, he worked at Hard Wax as well, growing closer to the store's base for legendary productions on the Basic Channel/Chain Reaction family of labels. Pröfrock also began producing and released his first Various Artists project, 1995's 1-7, on Chain Reaction. (He also recorded two singles for the label as Resilient and Erosion.) The continuation piece 8, 8.5, 9 appeared on England's Fat Cat label in 1997, highlighting the producer's subtle ambient sense and reliance on a restrictive frequency range – all middles, no highs or lows. Later that year, Chain Reaction compiled his work on the Decay Product compilation, and Fat Cat expanded 8, 8.5, 9 to an EP for Profrock's second CD release. ~ John Bush

Above the album worked the 'Brazilian Chill Bossa Beach (Jazzy Downtempo Tunes With Brazilian Feel)', and his release took place on 2021. The album has got songs with a total duration of more than an hour. A compilation is a compilation of original music.
