Love for Levon was a concert that took place on October 3, 2012 at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey as a tribute to the late drummer/singer Levon Helm of The Band. The concert featured a wide variety of musicians who had worked with Helm as well as musicians who were influenced by him. Proceeds from the concert went towards keeping Helm's Woodstock barn in his family's control as well as continuing his Midnight Ramble concert series in the barn. The concert's musical directors were Don Was and Levon Helm collaborator Larry Campbell.

All My Friends showcases this show in double-CD/single-DVD and, in light of the subsequent announcement that the Allman Brothers Band would retire at the end of 2014 in the wake of the twin departures of Warren Haynes and Derek Trucks, it gains a certain sense of poignancy…

In the world of Gov't Mule, big is best. It's attitude that serves Gov't Mule well on their ATO Records release, High & Mighty. Big riffs, massive grooves, and expansive improvisations are the hallmarks of the band's legendary live shows. Likewise, these twelve songs feature larger-than-life characters bearing life's heaviest burdens, performed by four mighty musicians guitar/vocalist Warren Hayes, drummer Matt Abts, keyboardist Danny Louis, and bassist Andy Hess whose powerful musicianship and tireless work ethic have earned them the respect of their peers, fans and critics alike. High & Mighty was produced by Haynes and Gordie Johnson, former leader of Canada's acclaimed Big Sugar, and was recorded at Willie Nelson's famed Pedernales Studio. Bonus CD contains 6 previously unreleased live tracks recorded during various years and locations around New Orleans.

Do we really need another live double CD by the Allman Brothers Band? Oh yeah. In fact, when they play this well, we need them in droves. This collection marks the second time the Allman Brothers have issued music from their storied shows at the Beacon Theater in New York. The first, Peakin' at the Beacon, was issued in 2000 with Dickey Betts and Derek Trucks in the lineup. Betts had not yet been fired and Warren Haynes was yet to return to the fold. While Betts is a singular voice and is one of the pillars of the ABB's sound, this new version of the band with Trucks and Haynes manning the guitars has gelled into a formidable unit; in fact, they are something spectacular.

Some time ago the former Grateful Dead (also Rythm Devils/New Riders of the Purple Sage/The Warlocks/ect) bassist and occasional vocalist put together an fantastic line up of his favorite Jam artist for a new fresh experience and and possibly a new Grateful Dead. He chose Warren Haynes (The Allman Brothers/Gov't Mule/Solo/ect) for guitar, Rob Barraco (Zen Tricksters/Chris Robinson & The New Earth Mud/ect) from piano, Jimmy Herring (The Allman Brothers/Aquarium Rescue Unit/Jazz is Dead/ Frogwings/ect) also for guitar, and John Molo (Bruce Hornsby/ModeReko/ect) for the band. Each member shows so much skill, and jam caulities.

This could very easily be the album that puts Gov't Mule over the top. They've been over the top for several years now in the eyes of their legions of fans, but commercial success has not yet been a part of their vocabulary. Sure, both guitarist Warren Haynes and bassist Allen Woody have enjoyed major success during their eight-year tenure as members of the South's most enduring group, the Allman Brothers Band, but those days are now behind them, and the power-trio, which also features the apt Matt Abts on drums, has headed into the trenches loaded down with full artillery.

The Deep End, Volume 1 is the fourth studio album by American rock band Gov't Mule. The album was released on October 23, 2001, by ATO Records and Evangeline Records. After the death of founding member and bass guitarist Allen Woody, the band considered breaking up. Instead, remaining members Warren Haynes and Matt Abts recorded several songs with bass players Woody had admired. So many musicians wanted to participate that the band ended up recording two albums worth of material. Vol 1 was issued in 2001. Originally, The Deep End, Volume 1 was released with a bonus disc called Hidden Treasures which featured live performances by the "New School of Gov't Mule" (Haynes, Abts, bassist Dave Schools, and keyboardist Chuck Leavell). The Deep End, Volume 2 was released a year later, featuring a somewhat heavier sound. Vol 2 was generally the harder sounding of the two releases although it also featured country and jazz tracks as well. The release also featured a bonus disc, Hidden Treasure, which contained live material, a song remix, and a new studio track recorded after the Deep End sessions had ended.
