“Don’t need a metaphor for you to know I’m miserable,” sings Lynn Gunn on “What’s Wrong.” After PVRIS’ conceptual debut, White Noise, singer/guitarist Gunn confronts heartache and anxiety with new candor and vulnerability. It fuels a darker, broader sound without sacrificing the trio’s gift for arena-filling choruses. Their compelling fusion of rock and electronic suggests Florence + The Machine on the soaring, percussive “What’s Wrong” and “Heaven,” while they pull off the difficult trick of making rock music that’s dramatic and grand but not overripe on “No Mercy.”

Ghost is a live album first released by British musician Gary Numan in 1988. It was recorded live at the Hammersmith Odeon in London on 25 and 26 September 1987 during Numan's Exhibition Tour (an 18-month concert tour that promoted the compilation album Exhibition). The original release was only available as a fan club mail order double LP. It went on general release in the United Kingdom as a double CD in May 1992.

In 1984, Gary Numan set up his own label, Numa Records, after parting ways with his previous label, Beggars Banquet. The move signified the beginning of a new period in his career, where he was free to experiment and take his sound in a new direction. The first album to be released via Numa was Berserker, which represented a shift toward a harder-edged digital aesthetic, while still honoring the analog textures of his earlier work. The album finds Numan weaving together fictional and personal narratives into a rich tapestry of sound which, even after 40 years, continues to resonate with fans, celebrated for its haunting themes and tracks like "My Dying Machine," "This Is New Love," and "Berserker." Newly remastered and expanded 4 CD edition features the original album along with bonus tracks, extended mixes from B-sides, and Numan's live album White Noise, recorded during the Berserker Tour, showcasing his dynamic performance.

Anthrax is an American heavy metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. The group was considered one of the leaders of the thrash metal scene during the 1980s and is one of the "Big Four" thrash metal bands with Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer; Anthrax is the only one of the four from the East Coast. As of April 2017, the band has released 11 studio albums, several other albums, and 26 singles, including collaborating on a single with American hip hop group Public Enemy. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Anthrax sold 2.5 million records in the United States from 1991 to 2004, with worldwide sales of 10 million…

To celebrate the 21st anniversary of their debut release, Blur s eponymous fifth album has now been remastered from the original tapes by Frank Arkwright (The Smiths, Arcade Fire, New Order, Joy Division), with the remastering overseen by legendary original producer, Stephen Street. Continuing the trend, Blur went straight in at No 1 on its release in February 1997, as had Parklife and The Great Escape before it. Representing a musical evolution for the band, the album is home to two of Blur s biggest hits in Beetlebum and Song 2. B-sides taken from all formats of these two singles are included in the accompanying Blur Special Edition bonus disc, along with b-sides from the album s fourth single M.O.R. Also included on the bonus disc is a 7 mix of Death Of A Party by Adrian Sherwood, the Dust Brothers produced Cowboy Song (which featured on the Dead Man On Campus soundtrack), four acoustic live tracks recorded at Viva Niteclub (previously only released on the German-only version of the M.O.R. single) and three live tracks recorded at MC Vredenburg, Utrecht, Netherlands, which were only previously released on the Netherlands-only version of the album.

Jazz / Fusion / Spiritual Jazz / Progressive / Drums / Guitar / Church Organ

Asaf Sirkis & The Inner Noise boldly go where fusion only hesitantly put out the odd foot before, and where prog rock could at best dream of going had it dared to. The music is vibrant, vital, exciting and fresh and even manages to surprise. One of these surprises is its wonderful accessibility and immediacy. "Inner Noise" has to be essential in any modern jazz and modern classical collection at the very least.

This collection contains all but a few of the recordings issued on the much more expensive Capitol set Complete Capitol Black & White Recordings, minus the alternate takes. To my ears, the sound is very good. Comet/Birdland was very wise in their limited use of noise reduction. You hear all of the highs, lows and midrange very clearly with little to no surface noise at all, and no fake reverb.
