The famous Red Rocks venue plays host to The Moody Blues on this DVD that offers a standard full-frame transfer. The English soundtrack does a fine job of capturing the music. There are no supplemental materials of any consequence, making it quite difficult to recommend this disc to anyone who is not already a fan of the band. Some of the songs performed include "Nights in White Satin," "Days of Future Past," and "Tuesday Afternoon."
The Moody Blues, as they came to be known, made their debut in Birmingham in May of 1964, and quickly earned the notice and later the services of manager Tony Secunda.
Jethro Tull - A New Day Yesterday (The 25th Anniversary Collection) (2003) [repost]

MPEG-2 Video, PAL 4:3 (720:576), 29.00fps 7142kbps | LPCM 2.0 48kHz | 90 min

This DVD has for main interest the Tull videoclips throughout their carreer (if you can call the 70 TV sessions videoclips) but most of the time is spent at the 25th anniversary of Jethro Tull where a good deal of the musicians that came and went in the group are present. There are a few glaring absences (most notably the deceased John Glascock and Mrs dee Palmer as he likes to be called that nowadays) but it is very pleasing to see all of those old chaps in fine forms (excepet for maybe Abrahams who seems a bit burdened by the age) reminiscing about the good and bad times.

Although she enjoyed stardom and an enduring multi-decade career in the U.K., folk singer Julie Felix never achieved widespread recognition in her native United States. After immigrating to England in the mid-'60s, the Californian was able to capitalize on the country's sudden post-Dylan appetite for American folk music and subsequently became the first solo folk artist to sign a major-label deal there. During her late-'60s peak, Felix's career in England was booming; she had scored a number of hits, sold out Royal Albert Hall, and hosted a popular variety television show. Her popularity continued into the early '70s, after which she spent a period living and recording in Norway – where she also had several hits – before returning to California and focusing on humanitarian issues.

Pete Townshend is the best thing that ever happened to Rock, and “Empty Glass” is his solo masterpiece, an insightful, invigorating confessional from a man on the edge. Townshend addresses punks, aging, drinking, music critics, work ethic, and his lifelong quest to find some meaning in life...

Soul Jazz Records’ long-lasting Punk 45 series are high-quality editions of early punk 45s. While previous editions have focussed on the early days of punk in Los Angeles, Cleveland, Akron, France, and proto-punk, this new edition focusses on mainly do-it-yourself, or self-released 45s, all made in the UK in the early days of punk.
While only a handful of Punk 45s were released in 1976, the following two years produced an avalanche of them. Aside from the few punk bands who signed to major labels, many of these singles were self-released private press 45s or independent label 45s. With limited distribution and access to the media, many of these sunk without trace and were lost in history. This album features many of these independent punk 45 gems, lost nuggets of gold from the sea of time!

Difficult to find and seemingly assembled from spare parts, Live Songs is the shabby orphan in Leonard Cohen's catalog. It is also one of his most thrilling releases. Culled from a series of 1972 concerts (except for "Tonight Will Be Fine" from the Isle of Wight festival), the album consists of compositions from 1969's Songs From a Room and a handful of otherwise unavailable material.
