Terminal Velocity marks the first solo album by the Dream Theater guitarist to be released in 15 years. The album sees the return of bassist Dave LaRue (Dixie Dregs, Flying Colors) who played on John’s debut solo album and subsequent G3 tours as well as an eagerly anticipated reunion with former Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy (Transatlantic, Winery Dogs, Sons Of Apollo).

Compression is the first solo album by Billy Sheehan. William "Billy" Sheehan is an American bassist known for his work with Talas, Steve Vai, David Lee Roth, Mr. Big, Niacin, and The Winery Dogs. Sheehan has won the "Best Rock Bass Player" readers' poll from Guitar Player Magazine five times for his "lead bass" playing style. Sheehan's repertoire includes the use of chording, two-handed tapping, right-hand "three-finger picking" technique and controlled feedback.

A cosmopolitan hard rock unit built around a shared love for classic rock and blues, Inglorious was founded in 2014 by English vocalist Nathan James (Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Uli John Roth), rhythm guitarist Wil Taylor, Swedish lead guitarist Andreas Eriksson, bassist Colin Parkinson, and drummer Phil Beaver. Inspired by bands like Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Bad Company, Aerosmith, and the Rolling Stones, the newly minted quintet wasted little time getting down to business, releasing a well-received YouTube video of their cover of "Burn" by Deep Purple. In 2015, the band inked a deal with Frontiers and headed to a studio in Buckinghamshire to track their eponymous debut LP, which arrived in early 2016.
