Woo

is a 2006 five-issue limited series published under the Director's Cut imprint of Virgin Comics. The series was produced by famed Chinese director John Woo, from a concept he developed based on a Chinese folk tale about seven brothers with unique powers, written by Garth Ennis and illustrated by Jeevan Kang. In 2007, the series was followed by a sequel, John Woo's 7 Brothers II, written by Ben Raab and Deric Hughes, with art by Edison George. The artwork especially is unique and original, with Kang's broad strokes achieving an impressionistic effect. And as with any Garth Ennis work, violent and explicit with mature content.

The Rise and Fall of Ruby Woo debuted on the UK Albums Chart at Number 73. The album spent 14 weeks on the Billboard charts, reaching Number 9 on the Jazz Albums chart. In France, The Rise and Fall of Ruby Woo spent 15 weeks on the albums chart, reaching a peak of Number 43. According to Billboard's official website, the album peaked at number 5 in the US Jazz charts in 2008.
