Celebrated pianist Aruán Ortiz, known for his work with Esperanze Spalding, Greg Osby, Andrew Cyrille and Terri Lyne Carringto, presents "Cub(an)ism", a solo piano recording that brings together a range of musical idioms from and experiences of Cuba, Spain, France and the USA which have formed Ortiz’s eclectic playing style. These original compositions highlight the pianist’s sensuality and creativity as he moves from heady structure to improvisational surprise.

Keyboardist Wayne Horvitz first made a name for himself in New York's early '80s downtown avant-garde scene, most notably as a member of John Zorn's genre-bending experimental supergroup Naked City. Horvitz has since relocated to Seattle to pursue a variety of projects, including work with his band President.
