A Killer Romance

Boy meets girl. But no, it’s not about that or the giddiness of a new romance. It’s about untimely death (no one’s sure of anything these days), true love, soul mates. It’s about the gun and the rose. Genre bending. Heart breaking. An avalanche of colors. Deadpan romance. Lips syncing, singing.

A disillusioned killer embarks on his last hit but first he has to overcome his affections for his cool, detached partner. Thinking it's dangerous and improper to become involved with a colleague he sets out to find a surrogate for his affections. Against the sordid and surreal urban nightscape (set in contemporary Hong Kong), he crosses path with a strange drifter looking for her mysterious ex-boyfriend and an amusing mute trying to get the world's attention in his own unconventional ways.

Super cool Silver kills the seven members of a masked gang, one by one. Saloon girls and poker games enliven this action-packed movie which culminates in the unmasking of the evil gang's boss.

The first time I saw this movie,i didn't even know that this had something to do with crying freeman! Of course they changed the story quite a bit! But in this case that doesn't matter! The focus of the story here is on the loyalty between the adopted son and the family (father)! It is about betrayal and revenge! Also there is some love! For the most part this is a crime/gangster drama with great action! The action consists of gun play and sword fights. These fights are more then excellent! It is a mystery to me why this movie doesn't get the attention it deserves! It is much better than most HK movies they bring out on DVD's! But that is a general complaint I have! There are a lot of Hong Kong titles out there that would blow your mind,but somehow never got made on DVD. Or at least not made available internationally! Which is strange,because they did import these titles on video! Anyway, this movie is a classic! Simon Yam in a early good role. Brilliant!

Based on the cult comic of the same name, the film follows the exploits of a hard boiled, trench coat wearing detective, Luigi Mackeroni, as he investigates a spate of castrations at a red light district hotel in New York. Hysterical witnesses claim that the goods in question ran off of their own accord. Whilst in the neighbourhood, Mackeroni decides to visit a rent boy and he himself becomes a victim of the Killer Condom (though thankfully only loses a nut to the beast). With the case now a personal vendetta, Mackeroni is willing to break all the rules as he encounters all manner of mad scientists and transvestites in his quest for justice.

Based on a novel by Giddens Ko. The movie follows the life of a contract killer who does not have the heart to kill anyone but uses deceit and trickery to give the appearance that he has killed his targets.
