With the idiosyncratic American fable Harold and Maude, countercultural director Hal Ashby fashioned what would become the cult classic of its era. Paule (Anne Consigny), thinks she is in the wrong movie: she accidentally sees her husband, Alex (Antoine Chappey), going to the movies with an attractive young woman! Instead of succumbing to the depression in her husband's infidelity, Paule begins to meet with other men.
