Vladimir Cosma was born in Bucharest, but even at a young age he moved to France and at first played the cello with Nadia Boulanger, where he became addicted to the genre of "musical illustration."
It is not surprising that the young talent drew the attention of the master of French comedy Yves Robert, and in 1968 Cosmas wrote his first soundtrack for his film "Blessed Alexander." Long-term cooperation with Robert quickly made Cosmas famous comedians in the environment - it works with Francis Weber, Gerard Uri, Claude Zidi and Pascal Thomas, wrote the music for most of the films with Pierre Richard, Gerard Depardieu, Louis de Funes and the other kings of the French comedy.

The great American-British violist and composer Rebecca Clarke’s arresting William Blake settings offer a woman’s perspective on texts also set by Benjamin Britten. Devotional works from Nadia Boulanger reveal a compositional master in her own right, in addition to her legendary status as pedagogue to innumerable greats including Aaron Copland and Daniel Barenboim. This be Her Verse , a song cycle by poet-librettist Lila Palmer and composer Kathleen Tagg was directly commissioned by the artists to conclude the programme and add an important contribution to the repertory: Songs written by women, about women, highlighting the female experience.

Sandrine Piau and the pianist David Kadouch have formed a new duo whose first concerts have been enthusiastically received. As is her wont, the French soprano enjoys intermingling languages and the worlds of different composers and poets around a theme; here Schubert, Liszt, Wolf and Clara Schumann rub shoulders with Lili Boulanger, Duparc and Debussy.
