These 10 CDs, featuring artists with impeccable credentials in French repertoire, draw together his works for piano, orchestra, chamber ensemble and voice. They constantly remind us that Satie was not just a maverick or an eccentric: he was a true original.

Solti's interpretations held more than surface excitement. In conducting Beethoven, for example, he long held that the symphonies should be played with all their repeats to maintain their structural integrity, and he carefully rethought his approach to tempo, rhythm, and balance in those works toward the end of his life.

Of all the strange records this French vanguard pop chanteuse ever recorded, this 1971 collaboration between the teams of Brigitte Fontaine and her songwriting partner Areski and the Art Ensemble of Chicago - who were beginning to think about returning to the United States after a two-year stay - is the strangest and easily most satisfying. While Fontaine's records could be beguiling with their innovation, they occasionally faltered by erring on the side of gimmickry and cuteness. Here, the Art Ensemble provide the perfect mysterious and ethereal backdrop for her vocal explorations. The set concludes with a bonus disc showcasing great pianists across Decca, Philips and DG who have played Scriabin down the years, from Horowitz, Richter and Cherkassky onto Kissin, Grosvenor and Trifonov.

2015: Boxset of 2 CD taking back all discography of Opera de Nuitfrom 1984 till 1988. This boxset contains two inserts: a fold-out poster with lyrics/pictures and a sticker. Formed in 1982, Opera de Nuit is a french new-wave band belonging the independant scene from early 80's, including five friends, four from Valreas and the fifth from the Drome department, in southeastern France. Self-taught band bringing a certain kind of will, the Opera wanders from halls to basements, from attics to caves: they multiply concerts in France and elsewhere (Paris, Lyon, Marseille,…), as well as their interviews and radio and TV broacasts.
