Lydmor is Copenhagen based Jenny Rossander, an electronic producer, composer, singer, writer and general troublemaker. Now she’s about to release her new solo album “I Told You I’d Tell Them Our Story”, a multi-layered piece of modern electronic pop music. In her sounds and with her words, Rossander captures a reflective description of her surroundings and invites the listener to follow her on a very personal journey.

It is timely, albeit in a melancholy way, that one-time Tomasz Stanko protégé Marcin Wasilewski and his trio would offer a retrospective live performance that closely coincides with the passing of the legendary Polish trumpeter. The pianist, still just in his early forties, first recorded with Stańko's octet while he was a teenager and quickly went on to release his first Simple Acoustic Trio album, Komeda (Not Two, 1995), at just twenty. From the outset bassist Slawomir Kurkiewicz and drummer Michal Miskiewicz have been equally integral in shaping a distinctive sound that has straddled lines between minimalism, free playing and perpetual inquisitiveness. Live is the first planned release of the trio in performance though an earlier album, 20th Getxo International Jazz Festival (Hilargi Records, 1996), was apparently documented by the venue itself.

It is something of a mystery why Johnny Tucker isn’t better known. He has been making music professionally since he first moved to Los Angeles back in 1964, singing in a James Brown tribute act before joining Philip Walker’s band as the drummer before moving on to play with the likes of Johnny Otis, Floyd Dixon and Robert Cray. His first album for HighJohn Records, Why You Lookin’ At Me?, was released in 2006, the same year as the wonderful Floyd Dixon Celebration, Time Brings About A Change. Tucker turns in engaging performances on both the CD and the DVD recordings of the two-night gig held to honour the legendary pianist and singer. He is a talented singer, with a warm, rough-hewn voice that straddles the border of blues and soul, as well as being a sharp-witted songwriter – all 15 tracks on Seven Day Blues were composed by him.

The plan was for the mass to be ready for performance at the enthronement celebrations in March 1820, but one year proved to be too little time. It wasnt until almost three years later, in January 1823, that Beethoven was able to complete the work.

Tribute to Oscar Peterson reaches the phonographic market in April by the same label, Fina Flor, who edited Peranzzetta's live album with Ivan. As the title tribute to Oscar Peterson already makes explicit, Peranzzetta's solo CD celebrates the legacy of Canadian jazz pianist Oscar Emmanuel Peterson, a prodigious musician celebrated for dexterity and speed in piano playing.

By releasing hit after hit from his upcoming album, “Voicenotes,” singer-songwriter Charlie Puth has continued to steadily climb up the charts. And, with the debut of his new lead single, “Attention,” in April 2017, the popularity of singer-songwriter Charlie Puth has begun to reach new levels.

The Trashmen, a Minneapolis band, recorded the 1:20-minute "Surfin Bird" in the basement of George Garrett's record shop in the fall of 1963. Recorded in the basement of George Garrett's record store. When they played the tape to Bill Diehl, a DJ at Minneapolis radio station WDGY, he said it was too short and suggested they re-record it. The Trashmen were taken by Garrett to Kay Bank Studios four blocks away and re-recorded. Released in November on the Garrett label, "Surfin Bird" received airplay on WDGY, selling 3,000 copies in its first week and reaching #3 in Minneapolis in its second week. The record was distributed by Soma Records and was a hit everywhere, climbing to #4 in the U.S. in January 1964. The hit hit song "Crazy" galvanized Minneapolis teens, and many teen bands visited Kay Bank Studios to make records with Garrett, including The Gestures, who went on to become one of the most popular teen bands of all time. Some of these groups, like The Gestures and The Castaways, had national hits.This compilation is a collection of Soma Records/Kay Bank Studios-related material that captures the vibrancy of the Minneapolis teen scene from 1964 to 1966. It is full of the charm of the local teen garage scene, which was different from that of New York and Los Angeles, more down-to-earth and more "Bird Fever" than "British Fever".

Man of the Woods is the upcoming fifth studio album by American singer-songwriter Justin Timberlake. It is set to be released on February 2, 2018.
