Western Cum (say it three times fast! Nope, doesn’t help) departs radically from the acoustic existentiell of Cory’s first two solo releases, torching their haunted dreamscapes by upping its heat to molten levels, six strings at a time. A darkly comic evisceration of the end of the American road; great tunes to modern dance along with, too.

Collaboration in its purest form is something that features the two artists involved while drawing something out of each other that they never would have been able to pull off on their own. This is why I love doing it. It keeps my creative mind spinning and inspired. I did a short run of concerts a few years back that featured the Metropole Orkest, and we've discussed working on a project together ever since. I've never seen an orchestra who is so versatile in being able to play classical and also groove based music. I knew that we'd be able to capture something really special if I utilized them alongside my band.

I'm so excited to have the opportunity to record again with Champian in the duo format. I'm very proud of our first album Dream A Little…. but our friendship and musical partnership has grown so much since that recording and the opportunity to record again is something I'm very grateful for. I would like to sincerely thank Kodi Hutchinson and the team at JazzYYC for providing Champian and I such a wonderfully unique situation for us to record. We both loved the experience and a big thank you to Scott Morin for taking on this production of this project with such elegance and grace.

Inspired by two of his tenor heroes, Eddie ''Lockjaw'' Davis and Gene Ammons, who featured their sounds in a big band format on several occasions dating back to the late 50s, Weeds has invited a tremendous assortment of both Canadian and American musicians to join him in this new endeavour.

Cory Wells (February 5, 1941 – October 20, 2015) was an American singer, best known as one of the three lead vocalists in the band Three Dog Night. Unlike many other rock musicians of the day, Wells managed to abstain from alcohol and other drugs. Also, he didn't squander his earnings on the lavish lifestyles of many other successful rock stars; rather, he chose to live a somewhat more moderate existence. After Three Dog Night broke up in 1976, Wells tried a solo career, recording the album Touch Me for A&M Records in 1978.
