„Another Time: The Hilversum Concert“ is a rare, never-before-issued recording of the legendary Bill Evans trio featuring Eddie Gomez on bass and Jack DeJohnette on drums, captured live at the Netherlands Radio Union Studios in Hilversum on June 22, 1968. This is only the third known recording in existence of this particular trio, who only performed together as a trio for a six month period in 1968, and was originally recorded and broadcast on the radio program Jazz in Actie by Dutch producer Joop de Roo. For the audiophile, this is possibly the best sounding live recording of Bill Evans found to date, captured with the then state of the art equipment of the NRU, and kept in pristine condition over the years.

Take the "A" Train is the vibrant signature composition of Duke Ellington, the most important composer in the history of jazz, also a rare bandleader who held his large group together for almost 50 years. It is quite impossible for one album to capture the full flavour and rich diversity of Duke Ellington’s music and orchestra. The eight tracks here offer a remarkably well-balanced sample of the prolific repertoire – the immortal compositions, the arresting arrangements, the outstanding soloists and, not least, the distinctive solo work of the piano player, Edward Kennedy Ellington, the Duke who became King of Orchestral Jazz.

This lovingly remastered release sees live performances of Satchmo and his All Stars presented to a whole new generation of listeners. Including the infamous title track along with a warm and rich performance of When It's Sleepy Time Down South and a lively rendition of Ole Miss, among many other top notch numbers, this is a perfectly balanced Armstrong collection to be treasured. Teddy Wilson bears the proud title of jazz musician pure and simple and that is why the music in this record is of such high standard. By the time he joined Benny Goodman (at age 23 in 1935) Wilson had mastered aesthetic perfection and has allowed pure music to speak for him ever since. Recorded on June 15, 1980 in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Johnson and Fats Waller and introduced qualities of elegance, delicacy and finesse that earned him wide-spread acclaim and a great number of imitators.

The recordings that comprise Jazz At The Pawnshop, made by recording engineer Gert Palmcrantz in 1976, are widely regarded by audiophiles as the best jazz recordings of the 20th Century. Jazz At The Pawnshop 3 is the last in this series that revisits the legendary Stockholm sessions from musicians Arne Domnerus, Bengt Hallberg, Georg Riedel, Egil Johansen, and Lars Erstrand, presenting five previously unreleased tracks that highlight the unique relationship these jazz musicians have, their fervent improvisations bonding them to each other and to their audience.

This album, comprised of previously unissued material, stands as a fitting tribute to the integrity and splendid musicianship of tenor saxophonist Warne Marsh and bassist Red Mitchell who were true soul brothers who played together intermittently in the infancy of modern jazz, a friendship that survived nearly 40 years and was broken only by the sudden and tragic death of Warne in December, 1987.

Whether they called him “Satchmo” or simply the “man with the silver trumpet”, millions of people, from Mongolia to Munich, Milano and Mozambique, recognized the cherubic countenance, gravel voice, and high, rhythmic notes that bought thousands to greet him and hear him wherever he went – the magnetism was, at times, as awesome as his music could be. Louis Armstrong was one of the greatest musicians jazz ever produced, perhaps – and few, if any, will argue against this – the greatest.
