This EP builds on Bob Margolin's current success with all acoustic music. 2019's 'This Guitar and Tonight' won a Blues Music Award for Best Acoustic Album. The new all-original songs take on the Coronavirus, isolation, and the halt of live music. He shares missing shows and friends, fear for the world, outrage, grief, new coping skills and new ways to present his music. He plays slide guitar on a 1930s Gibson and one on a National steel guitar. He embraces both traditional styles and new explorations, home recorded direct and again, no sugar added.
This is, according to most, the best album by Seru Giran. While I consider the bands first three albums all to be masterpieces, I think its here that the band managed to really coalesce into a single unit. The first album, was mostly led by maestro Charly García and has a more classical music feel to it. The second album saw the band consolidate itself but producing more mainstream rock oriented tracks. On the other hand, Bicicleta saw the band producing a rather proggy album with amazing things to hear. This is mainly evidenced by the whole array of genres that find their way here: rock&roll, jazz, tango, new wave…..
An Italian rock outfit Arcadelt have been founded in 1992 around Rome by 5 musicians - Pierfrancesco Drago (voices), Fabrizio Verzaschi (guitars), Giacomo Vitullo (keyboards), Sandro Piras (drums, percussion), and Fabio Cifani (bass). Apparently with being influenced by early Genesis with "Commedia dell'arte (theatre of the professional … masked improvised performances begun in the 16th century in Italy)". Following 25 years after after their debut album “Enjoy”, neo-progressive band Arcadelt released their new album “Arc8” on May 20, 2019 via Italian label Lizard Records. “ARC8” represents the closure of a circle born 25 years ago, a project where the passion for the progressive rock of the 70s and 80s gives way to a rock component with a considerable specific weight integrated in it’s style.
"…Despite their innovations, solid technical ability and raves from the critics, D.A.F. were certainly never ready for prime time. When other artists in the club genre were dancing around the issue of alternative sexuality, D.A.F. was fairly "out" about it – their album covers were blatantly homoerotic and lyrics often dealt with sadomasochism. While D.A.F.'s big, industrial-inspired dance sound certainly had some measure of commercial potential, the group didn't, and they were way ahead of their time – too far ahead. Gold und Liebe followed, much in the vein of Alles Ist Gut, though offering some further refinements in terms of sound and style. Some critics argue that Gold und Liebe represents D.A.F.'s "personal best," though Alles Ist Gut is such a defining statement in retrospect it would seem hard to top. With 1982s Gold und Liebe, D.A.F. decided to disband amicably, as the sequencer they used proved too limited to sustain them artistically beyond what they had already done."
With a new label, a new album, Last Safe Place, and a new sense of confidence and vitality, LeRoux is certain to surpass the considerable achievements of their first three albums. Last Safe Place is the sum total of six talents. Like the rich Creole gravy base—roux — from which the band took its name, many musical flavors such as Southern Boogie, Rock, R&B, and Pop are readily identifiable on Last Safe Place.
Little Raine Band has been jamming in venues and across radio waves in Birmingham and beyond for over a decade now, and the band is entering a new realm of music goodness with today’s release of “Beyond The Cave”! The band will celebrate the release of their latest masterpiece at Saturn Friday evening, and the guys are ready to get back to playing in front of their hometown. The current collective of Davis Little (guitar/vocals), Daniel Raine (keyboard/vocals), Isaiah Smith (bass), and Charles Gray (drums) feels like they’ve put out their best work yet with this new album, and the Saturn show will be a celebration of this return to groovin music.
