Eden

The story continues where it left off from the Eden of the East TV series, and brings Morimi Saki back to the USA in order to find Takizawa Akira. The other Selecao however are actively moving to take part in the game, and a few in particular are making dangerous moves in order to eliminate Takizawa or move towards their picture of a better Japan.

Composed over a period of fourteen years, John Pickard's Gaia Symphony and Eden are scored for the standard British brass band, with expanded percussion in the case of 'Gaia'. Both works in different ways mirror concerns regarding the world and nature, and their relationship with the human species. Gaia was the Greek goddess of the earth, but is also the name of a theory which proposes that the earth itself is a living organism and that its colonisation by humankind merely marks a certain point in its history.

Finally after so many years it is really going to happen. Magna Carta have recorded the long awaited album, "The Fields of Eden". And what better time to release it than on the actual date of the signing of the Magna Carta 800 years later. June 15th. Fields of Eden has already been classed as a masterpiece and by many has surpassed the band's legendary Lord of the Ages which went Gold after its release back in 1973…

Despite production by Bob Thiele, Frank Kofsky's horrifying liner notes comparing Eden's Children to Jimi Hendrix and Cream are the only thing worse than this music. It's a weak album, for sure, regardless of Kofsky's proclamation that Richard Schamach is a better vocalist than Jack Bruce…
