Imagination were a trio from the U.K. that put a synthesized and often clubby spin on soul groups from the '70s. In fact, a couple of '70s groups have direct ties to Imagination; Leee John and Ashley Ingram spent time during that decade playing supportive roles in the Delfonics and Chairmen of the Board, prior to Imagination's formation.

IMAGINATION is an electro-funk group created by Leee John and Ashley Ingram Errol Kennedy in London in 1981. Leee John was raised in New York City where he choirs for Delfonics and Chairmen Of The Board. Detected by Trevor Horn, he met Ashley Ingram during a hearing and together they form the duo Fizz. Back in England they meet Errol Kennedy, drummer of the American band Midnight Express, with which they will create the funk trio Imagination. IMAGINATION name is a tribute to one of the most famous songs of John Lennon: "Imagine".

Sounds of the Seventies was a 38-volume series issued by Time-Life during the late 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s, spotlighting pop music of the 1970s. Lou Reed was a singer and guitarist best known as a co-founder of the influential rock group the Velvet Underground and later, as a legendary solo artist.
