The late Paul Oliver (1927-2017) spent a great deal of his adult life researching and writing about the blues. In a literary career that spanned more than half a century, Oliver wrote ten books about various aspects of the blues, with the emphasis on the artists who recorded, and the music they made, from the mid-1920s to the outbreak of World War Two. In 1960 Oliver's second book 'Blues Fell This Morning' set the benchmark for all subsequent blues literature. It's still universally acclaimed to this day and has been in print ever since. Like many of Oliver's subsequent books, 'Blues Fell This Morning' was accompanied by a companion vinyl album of the same title. Its original release was greeted with the same degree of enthusiasm as the book. Many of the artists it featured had long been forgotten by all but a few. Some remain virtually or completely unknown to this day.

To celebrate this 20th anniversary, the trio will release its first compilation album. 20 Years Recordings contains a few tracks from their RCA Victor debut album About Stories with Randy Brecker and Bob Mintzer. From the album Inner You they chose to add tracks that Michel Bisceglia composed with Ozark Henry and Rocco Granata. Inner You was a success album in Japan, and one of its tracks was used in the American TV-series Ray Donovan. Tracks from Singularity, which was selected by the renowned magazine JazzTimes as one of the 50 best jazz albums of 2014, are also included. The 3 tracks from About Stories with Randy Brecker and Bob Mintzer are remastered for this compilation album!

Boogie-Woogie piano had been around a long time before bandleaders got hold of the eight-to-the-bar and sent it to college. The Tommy Dorsey Orchestra recorded one of the earliest examples - circa 1938 - to hit the big time, showcasing their pianist Howard Smith. It was a sanitised version of the original Pinetop's Boogie Woogie. It proved to be an overnight sensation and fired up yet another Boogie-Woogie craze. Many swing bands, anxious not to be left out, altered their repertoire accordingly. The result was phenomenal.
