Congratulations Mark Knight on Toolroom turning 15. Since its inception in 2003, they have released some era-defining tracks and brought the brand across the world with residencies, one-off shows and festival stages. Marking a milestone wouldn't be complete without a celebratory compilation - and they have indeed gone big! Celebrating the famous Toolroom sound and underpinned by a club ready ethos, Toolroom 15 contains a mammoth 70 tracks.

In the year Toolroom celebrated its 15th birthday, 'Best Of 2018' reflects on one of the labels biggest years to date. Highlights include Weiss' summer anthem 'Feel My Needs, Camelphat's longstanding Beatport no. 1 remix of Fatboy Slim's 'Right Here, Right Now' and Sterling Void's classic 'Summer Of Love' anthem 'It's Alright', which was given the remix treatment 30 years from its original release.

With Ibiza's extended summer season almost upon us, Toolroom has served up a suitably epic collection of cuts that it expects to be big on the White Isle this summer. Label boss Mark Knight has provided a trio of DJ mixes ("Poolside", "Club" and "Afterclub") and the unmixed tracks included all fit into these loose categories. There's not enough room to list all of the highlights, but we've been enjoying the funk-fuelled disco-house rush of Illyus and Barrientos' "The One", the sleazy, bass-heavy bounce of Max Chapman's "Steppa", the acid-powered tech-house-jack of Del-30's "Gravity" and the weighty, mind-altering thump of "Low End Theory" by Eli Brown.

Not the commercial classic stompers which you will find on every eighties compilation album but only the still highly in demand and difficult to find disco gems.

As adjuncts to our highly popular “America’s Greatest Hits” series of collections for each calendar year in the 50s and early ‘60s, we have already produced collections based on landmark moments in the Billboard charts – “The First Top 100 Nov. 1955” (ACQCD7062), “The First Hot 100 Aug. 1958” (ACQCD7083), “The First Hot 100 of the '60s” (ACQCD7097), “The 'Heartbreak Hotel' Top 100” (ACQCD7122)and “The Day The Music Died - Feb 3rd 1959 Hot 100” (ACQCD7134) and “The 'Telstar' Hot 100 December 22nd 1962” (ACQCD7144) each comprising the records in the Top 100 for the date in question. This collection celebrates a notable chart event of January 1962, namely when Chubby Checker’s record “The Twist” topped the US pop charts for the second time, signalling the approaching peak of the worldwide Twist dance craze – he had first made No.1 well over a year earlier, in September 1960, since which time the dance had started to catch on all round the world.
