Solo Flights is the thirty-sixth studio album by Chet Atkins. Side one of this album features Atkins' experiment with the "Octabass Guitar," where he replaced the two low strings (the E and A strings) with heavier strings in order to drop an octave and create a fuller sound with bass.

‘The Sun Shines Here’ captures perfectly the moment indie pop emerged from the ashes of the post-punk years, bringing a brighter, more ambitious sound, and an enthused cross-section of British youth culture, into the spotlight. A must for lovers and collectors of independent music and admirers of the independent spirit that enabled it.
Eight years later, Cherry Red presents the sequel, ‘The Sun Shines Here’. Once again referencing a Hurrah! song, this 3CD set revisits and explores the birth of Indie Pop, a period when, in the early 1980s, as London centred around more angular, aggressive music, bands emerged from Scotland, Liverpool and Manchester drawing on the cooler end of ‘60s and ‘70s music to create something fresh and new.

Something Swingin' !!! deserves those three exclamation points. Good range of featured artists aimed at novices and new fans. Very fine two-record set with an extensive cross-section from Sinatra to Andy Williams, from Nina Simone to Ella Fitzerald. This is worth having, regardless of your swing jazz knowledge.

The Chocolate Watchband's debut album, No Way Out was also their most heavily Rolling Stones-influenced album, but appreciating the album and what's on it (and what's not) requires some explanation. Released in September of 1967, No Way Out came at the end of the band's first 15 months of existence, a period that encompassed the recording and release of four singles of generally extraordinary quality, and as good as anything heard from any garage band anywhere during that period…

Yo, it’s ya boy Jeffy. Has this ever happened to you? You approach a group of women and attempt to strike up a conversation… only to have them COMPLETELY IGNORE YOU. Maybe they didn’t hear, you think. You repeat your opening line again, this time in what you think is a louder voice. They continue their conversation as though you weren’t even there. Literally, you have failed to even enter into their consciousness as a being worthy of recognition. Without skipping a beat the girl you addressed turns her back to you and keeps talking to her friend, leaving you standing there with your dick in your hand. The girls won’t even LOOK at you… EVEN IF YOU’RE DOING EVERYTHING RIGHT.
