Sudden Light is a brand-new album of solo piano music written by Golden Globe and BAFTA nominated composer Alex Heffes. With this album, the composer performs his own music for the frst time stripped back to solo piano in an intimate and personal journey of rediscovery. Born in the UK, Alex's life-long passion for playing the piano started at an early age and has been a constant throughout his career as a composer. In 2018 his piano playing came to an abrupt halt following an accident that left one hand severely broken. Surgery and rehabilitation left him unable to fully play for an extended period and gradually lead to his almost abandoning the instrument. His latest album, is a musical journey of rediscovery. In exploring some of his previous compositions and re-working them for solo piano, a new light is cast on the music and a new path created to the composer rediscovering how to perform again.

This concert, filmed on Peace Day: 21st September 2007, celebrates the efforts of those working for peace around the world. Featuring Annie Lennox, Yusuf Islam (formerly Cat Stevens), Corinne Bailey Rae, James Morrison, Marc Almond, and Kate Nash. Special guests include Jude Law and HRH Prince Azim of Brunei as well as Jeremy Gilley. Four mini films throughout the concert give full information about the aims of the movement, encouragement to participate and the plan for the future. Peace One Day began life as a film project, the vision of one man, British filmmaker, Jeremy Gilley.

The Spanish Jazz Factory label assembled this collection of Anita O'Day sides recorded between 1942 and 1950, with a variety of orchestras led by Stan Kenton, Gene Krupa, Alvy West, Will Bradley, Abbey Brown, Paul Jordan, Jack Pleis, and Ben Homer. Though the liner notes definitely aren't up to the quality of an average major-label compilation, collectors will be overjoyed to see so much attention to detail regarding the early career of an important jazz singer, from evergreens like "And Her Tears Flowed Like Wine" to novelty fare like "Tennessee Waltz" and "Yeah Boo."

Tony Scott led several small groups of various sizes during the month of November 1957, resulting in three separate LPs being issued by Seeco, Carlton, and Perfect without duplicating any of the 24 tracks. This Fresh Sound two-CD set collects everything recorded during these sessions. Scott's core group features pianist Bill Evans (not long after he was discharged from military service), either Milt Hinton or Henry Grimes on bass, and drummer Paul Motian. In addition to his powerful clarinet, Scott plays a potent baritone sax on six selections.
