Contemporary soul-pop artists, including Patti Austin, Tevin Campbell, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jone, Take 6, Howard Hewett, and Dianne Reeves, take a pop-song approach to Handel's classic Christmas oratorio. Handel's wonderful melodies are updated with synthesizers, drum machines, and slick pop production from Quincy Jones and Take 6's Mervyn Warren.

First class fusion from guitarist Russ Freeman and company. Russ always uses the heavy hitters on the L.A. session scene, and Patti Austin contributes one vocal track.

„Foreigner“, released in 1973, was Cat Stevens’ fifth album with Island Records and represents the adventurous, risk- taking streak in his character. In a departure from his largely acoustic sound, the album saw Cat explore his love of R&B and soul music, as can be heard on the record’s main single, “The Hurt.” Recorded largely in Jamaica with an all-star band and the first record to be produced solely by Cat himself, Foreigner is deep, funky and rich with layered meaning.

GRP Records (Grusin-Rosen Productions) is a jazz record label founded by Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen in 1978. Distributed by Verve Records, GRP® was originally known for its digital recordings that focuses on its jazz genre. In 1992, the label celebrated its 10th anniversary after being formed in 1982 in spectacular fashion as Dave Grusin and Larry Rosen assembled nearly every artist with the exception of singers Diane Schuur and Patti Austin to record the album GRP All-Star Big Band, which was recorded in January 1992 and featured prominent jazz artists such as Lee Ritenour, Arturo Sandoval, Eddie Daniels, Tom Scott, Gary Burton, Dave Weckl, Nelson Rangell, among others. The label not only released a CD with bonus tracks, but also they recorded the event which was available on both VHS and LaserDisc.

Veteran drummer Dennis Chambers shows off on drums while teaming with top-notch talent for the funky and soulful meeting of musical minds known as "Groove and More". Having provided the rhythm for John Scofield, George Duke, Brecker Brothers, Santana, Parliament/Funkadelic, John McLaughlin and others, Dennis brings refined talent on percussion in 2013 to inspire each guest and give each song a strong foundation of energy.
