Fresh expands and brightens the slow grooves of There's a Riot Goin' On, turning them, for the most part, into friendly, welcoming rhythms. There are still traces of the narcotic haze of Riot, particularly on the brilliant, crawling inversion of "Que Sera, Sera," yet this never feels like an invitation into a junkie's lair. Still, this isn't necessarily lighter than Riot – in fact, his social commentary is more explicit, and while the music doesn't telegraph his resignation the way Riot did, it comes from the same source. So, Fresh winds up more varied, musically and lyrically, which may not make it as unified, but it does result in more traditional funk that certainly is appealing in its own right. Besides, this isn't conventional funk – it's eccentric, where even concise catchy tunes like "If You Want Me to Stay" seem as elastic as the opener, "In Time." That's the album's ultimate charm – it finds Sly precisely at the point where he's balancing funk and pop, about to fall into the brink, but creating an utterly individual album that wound up being his last masterwork and one of the great funk albums of its era.

All the Girls in the World Beware!!! is the ninth studio album by American hard rock band Grand Funk Railroad. The album was originally released by Capitol Records in December 1974 and was the group's second album released that year. The album was recorded at the Swamp, a studio owned by Mark Farner and situated on his farm in Parshallville, MI. The recording engineer on the sessions was Shelly Yakus with assistance by Kevin Ayers and Rod O'Brien. The album's producer was Jimmy Ienner that worked with many pop and rock musicians including Three Dog Night, the Raspberries, and the Bay City Rollers, among others.

After two LPs with little or no energy, Sade demonstrated some intensity and fire on her third release. Whether that was just an attempt to change the pace a bit or a genuine new direction, she had more animation in her delivery on such songs as "Haunt Me," "Give It Up," and the hit "Paradise." Not that she was suddenly singing in a soulful or bluesy manner; rather, Sade's dry and introspective tone now had a little more edge, and the lyrics were ironic as well as reflective. Synth Pop / New Romantic / New Wave / Funk

It's unbelievable how good this album is, compared to their debut. The songwriting is very strong and synth pop/funk combination works perfectly. Limahl's department didn't affect the quality of the vocals, in fact Nick's sound even better. Unfortunately the record lacks a real hit, so very few people remember it. Shame, because it's one of the best synth pop albums I've heard in a long time.
