Riffs For Organ

Recorded in 1970, Panna Fredda's lone work is one of the earliest pioneers of the ISP genre, one of the trailblazers of the distinct style of festive experimentation that would characterize so many great Italian bands. It's really an overlooked title in the Italian progressive rock universe. Heavy and dark with a distinct baroque twist and an emphasis on exploration, "Uno" was right there with other first wave titles from Orme, The Trip, and Osanna. The origins of Panna Fredda (translates to Cold Cream) date back to 1966 Rome and the Italian beat when members were playing in a group called I Figli Del Sole. These nightclub gigs evolved into a 6-piece funk/R and B/brass outfit called Vun Vun.

Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
I always read terrible reviews about this album something with I don't agree, of course is not one of their masterpieces, but the quality of the music and the selection of songs is outstanding.

Musica Ficta is a symphonic progressive rock band from Israel, formed in 2003. Their debut album, A Child & A Well was recorded already in 2005, but released in 2012. Udi Horev, the guitarist, is responsible for all the music on this release, while he was assisted by Julia Feldman in the lyrics department.

Another excellent follow-up album from The Flower Kings after their previous excellent work titled “Space Revolver”. “The Rainmaker” is much more accessible than its predecessor as the music, overall, is more melodic and the music is more solid. Excellent harmony which blends stunning guitar work by Roine Stolt, Bodin’s floating and soaring keyboard sound – both of them are fully supported with excellent combination of bass guitar, drums, percussion and powerful vocals. You don't have to be a prog head to enjoy this music, if you love great rock and roll you need to hear this CD. Yes indeed, they are serious dreamers…

Duncan Mackay is a sadly forgotten British keyboardist who recorded two solo symphonic prog rock albums back in 70s along with few disks together with such little known bands like Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel & 10cc, while in 80s he joined Camel to record "Nude"…

SAHARA is a mid-70's act that produced two albums, but prior to that they'd worked and released another as SUBJECT ESQ. The music is rather typical early 70s proto-prog with elements of JETHRO TULL (for the flute-guitar interplay), early YES, and the occasional saxophone riffs remind of early VAN DER GRAAF GENERATOR…

Whether you ask bandmembers or longtime fans for the decisive moment when Motorpsycho became, for lack of a better word, themselves, almost all will point to Demon Box. It was the band's third and last album for Voices of Wonder Records. Their previous two, 1991's Lobotomizer and 1992's Soothe, showcased elements of the persona that gels here, but not the totality. Demon Box moves far beyond the hard psych, grungy guitar, and indie tendencies of those albums toward more formal song and compositional structures, as well as the far-flung experimentalist and improvisational frontiers that made them legends…
