From Tower Records Japan's website, the release schedule for their new series of Blue Note SACD reissues. There is no information provided about sources (master tapes vs. 24/192 files) or mastering engineers. Robert Vosgiens' DSD downloads of some of these albums became available this year at North American vendors, and many BN titles have been released in all-analogue transfers on BN Classic Vinyl and BN Tone Poet. I have the BN Classic Vinyl LP of "Out to Lunch!" remastered by Kevin Gray, and the Vosgiens DSD download. It would be useful to have more technical details about this new group of Tower Japan BN SACDs.

Stone Temple Pilots roared on to the scene in 1992 with their raucous debut Core. A breakout success, the album peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 chart, dominated radio waves with hits like "Sex Type Thing" and "Wicked Garden," and has been certified 8x platinum by the RIAA. The band also took home the 1994 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance for their smash single "Plush."

Brilliant late '50s material by the great hard bop pianist and equally gifted supporting players, bassist Paul Chambers and drummer Philly Joe Jones. Clark was among the most inventive pianists of the period, a masterful ballad interpreter and dynamic uptempo soloist, while Chambers and Jones had few peers, either as accompanists or in the spotlight.

The book and lyrics were written by the two actors Gerome Ragni and James Rado, who also played the leading male roles in the version that ran for many years on Broadway in New York. The music was composed by Galt MacDermot. "Hair", one of the most internationally successful musicals, was made into a film by Miloš Forman long after the end of the hippie movement in 1979.

In Session is a blues album by Albert King with Stevie Ray Vaughan recorded live for television on December 6, 1983, at CHCH-TV studios in Hamilton, Ontario, when Vaughan was 29 and King was 60.
