"Sounds of the Vanishing world" is the name of Kroke's new CD. This may sound like a manifesto aimed at saving things of value, because yes, in a world of unlimited communication and millennium hysteria, Kroke do want us to think about things that are really important in life: "Earth" "Water" "Fire" or "Love", for example, to mention titles on this CD. However "Sounds of the Vanishing world" is also about the important events of the last decades. Basing their work on the Eastern European and Balkans tradition of Klezmer music, they also include jazz, improvisation, pop, avant-garde music and much more. The music of these three excellent musicians, well known in Klezmer circles, is always exciting and full of surprises. You even get to feel the enjoyment they have in breaking new ground with their music!
After the disaster of “Big Men Cry” and a traumatic American tour with Moby, it was time for Banco de Gaia to take stock. A move to Somerset allowed him to set up a new studio, and all the label intrigue from the last release drove him to find a new American partner in Six Degrees, and to set up his own label, Disco Gecko Recordings, for European releases.

In 2010, The Super Premium Band was born from the mind of Yasohachi "88" Itoh, the Japanese producer who created numerous albums with the late Hank Jones and his Great Jazz Trio. Featuring Kenny Barron on piano, Ron Carter on bass and Lenny White on drums, the band released its first album, Softly, As In A Morning Sunrise to great critical acclaim and popularity. For the super-group's second album, the legendary drummer Jack DeJohnette replaces Lenny White, bringing a different set of rhythmic textures and sensibilities.
