10th May 2013, Steve Hackett and his band performed a sold-out show at London’s legendary Hammersmith Apollo. For that night, his usual band which includes Nad Sylvan (vocals), Lee Pomeroy (bass & twelve-string), Roger King (keyboards), Gary O’Toole (drums) and Rob Townsend (saxophone, woodwind) were joined by a host of guests that had previously appeared on the studio album, to create a special show. As Steve himself remarks, ‘playing to a sold-out Hammersmith Apollo was truly a homecoming to remember and in front of such a great crowd.’ Joining him for the rapturously received performance that evening were Nik Kershaw, John Wetton, Amanda Lehman, Steve Rothery and Jakko Jaksyzk, who all gave sublime performances on the night, providing their considerable talents on tracks like ‘The Lamia’ and ‘Afterglow’

After his much celebrated 2015 studio album, “Wolflight”, which cracked the top 40 in the UK and top 50 in Germany upon release, Steve Hackett has done something unusual for his new live release – he filmed and recorded it in Liverpool.“When InsideOut told me that I could film a gig on the British leg of the 2015 tour for release, I thought that we should do it away from London. My last three DVDs have been done at venues in the city – Shepherd's Bush Empire ('Fire & Ice', 2011), Hammersmith Apollo ('Genesis Revisited: Live At Hammersmith', 2013) and the Royal Albert Hall ('Genesis Revisited: Live At The Royal Albert Hall', 2013).

Steve Hackett has earned the reputation of being one of Britain's finest composers and guitarists. Peter Gabriel invited him to join Genesis in 1970 and his involvement led to 8 albums. His complex and distinctive playing contributed heavily to their early success, developing an elegance and sophistication which have become his trademark and he has since achieved consistent solo success internationally.
Hackett's newest symphonic progressive rock albums may be one of his best. The music here is basically a terrific amalgamation of his entire careers' work, and it all works so wonderfully together and still seems fresh after all these years. Some of the tracks create powerful symphonic and almost new-aged dream soundscapes (Fire on the Moon), some are Mediterranean/Spanish influenced songs with beautiful classical guitar…

Though you will see Till We Have Faces often mentioned as the first rock album to draw from world music influences, that's not quite true. Santana, John McLaughlin, Os Mutantes, the Police, Jade Warrior, and others were doing it long before. That said, the album was done before Paul Simon ushered it in as a trend with Graceland. Recorded in Rio de Janeiro and mixed in London, it's a step away from the progressive rock he'd become recognized for and is a mostly successful venture. A couterie of Latin percussionists flesh out the almost all Brazilian band that graces the album, adding layers of complex rhythms. These rhythms are the core of the album and make such songs as "A Doll That's Made in Japan" and "What's My Name" more exotic and interesting; they creatively juxtapose Oriental and South American styles…
