Secrets of the Alibi is the second album by The Northern Pikes released in 1988. It featured two hit Canadian singles - "Wait for Me" and "Hopes Go Astray". Although this was their second album, the Pikes were nominated for "Most Promising Group" at the 1989 Juno Awards.

Three years after his solo album The Wildest Wish to Fly, pop producer and songwriter Rupert Hine came back under the disguise of the pseudo-group Thinkman. The three musicians who accompanied him in interviews and lip-sync performances were actors, the whole project becoming a concept revolving around media manipulation…

Like Omigod! The 80s Pop Culture Box (Totally) is a seven-disc, 142-track box set of popular music hits of the 1980s. Released by Rhino Records in 2002, the box set was based on the success of Have a Nice Decade: The 70s Pop Culture Box, Rhino's box set covering the 1970s. Like Omigod! includes a 90-page booklet of cultural comment, a timeline for the decade, and liner notes for the tracks included in the set. As does Have a Nice Decade, the tracks tend to be from the lesser-known artists who were one-hit wonders, although music from the best-selling artists of the era are also included. In addition, many of the 1980s musical styles — rock, pop, country pop, new wave, funk, disco and rhythm and blues — are represented.

As the leader of the British new wave band the Fixx, Cy Curnin (vocals, keyboards) often found him and his group compared to fashion-conscious '80s acts such as A Flock of Seagulls and Duran Duran. Ironically, even though Curnin scoffed at those bands' predilection for high-style clothing, he became involved in the fashion business himself, founding a company called Cy Wear that specialized in hats…

CITY FIXX was a bunch of rock and roll ragamuffins, coming from Rockville, Maryland, armed with some of the best Glam/Sleaze anthems you’ve never heard and they had Kim Fowley (Runaways) in their corner. Sounding like a delicious blend of Faster Pussycat, Guns ‘N’ Roses with a hint of Poison, the likes of ‘Shatterbone City’, ‘Blood’ and ‘Last Romance’ are irrefutable proof of this band’s prowess.
