Godbluff is the fifth album released by English progressive rock band Van der Graaf Generator. It was the first disc after the band reformed in 1975 and was recorded after a European tour. As the first self-produced album by the band, it featured a tighter, more pared-down sound than the band's earlier recordings with producer John Anthony. This reissue added live performances by the band of two songs from Peter Hammill's album The Silent Corner and the Empty Stage (1974), recorded at a concert at L'Altro Mondo, Rimini, Italy.

At Fillmore East is the first live album by American rock band the Allman Brothers Band, and their third release overall. Destroyer is the fourth studio album by American hard rock band Kiss. This is one of Kiss' most experimental studio albums, but also one of their strongest and most interesting. The album marked a departure from the raw sound of the band's first three albums. Destroyer is the first Kiss album to prominently feature outside musicians, such as members of the New York Philharmonic. One musician not credited was Dick Wagner, from Alice Cooper's band, replacing Ace Frehley on the track "Sweet Pain". Wagner also played the acoustic guitar found on the song "Beth".

Black Rose: A Rock Legend is the ninth studio album by Irish Rock band Thin Lizzy. Released in 1979, it has been described as one of the band's "greatest, most successful albums". The album peaked at No. 2 in the UK charts. It was the first time that blues rock guitarist Gary Moore remained in Thin Lizzy long enough to record an album after previous brief stints in 1974 and 1977 with the band.

Quadrophenia is the sixth studio album by the English rock band The Who, released as a double album in October 1973 by Track Records. It is the group's second rock opera. Set in London and Brighton in 1965, the story follows a young mod named Jimmy and his search for self-worth and importance. Quadrophenia is the only Who album entirely composed by Pete Townshend. This Japanese SHM-SACD reissue uses the 2012 DSD master based on UK original analog tape.

Beginnings is a 1973 reissue of the Allman Brothers Band's first two albums, The Allman Brothers Band and Idlewild South, made to capitalize on the band's popularity since those records had first come out. For "Beginnings", the band's debut album was remixed by Tom Dowd, replacing Adrian Barber's original mix.

The Band released their seventh studio album, Islands, in 1977. It was the final studio album from the group's original lineup and was released to fulfill the group's contract with Capitol Records.

Music from Big Pink is the debut studio album by legendary group The Band. It was released in 1968, and the title refers to "Big Pink", a house shared by Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Garth Hudson where some of the music for the album was composed. Al Kooper of Rolling Stone gave the album a rave review, and the album also gained attention due to the fact that Bob Dylan co-wrote three songs (as well as illustrating the cover art himself). In the years since its release, Music from Big Pink has been praised by many; Roger Waters has called it the second "most influential record in the history of rock and roll" after Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band and that it "affected Pink Floyd deeply, deeply, deeply". The album was ranked #34 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

Moondog Matinee is the fifth studio album by Canadian/American rock group the Band, released in 1973. It consists entirely of cover material reflecting the group's love of R&B and blues music, with one exception in their interpretation of the theme from the film The Third Man. The original idea had been to replicate the group's setlists of the mid-'60s when they had been known as Levon and the Hawks, playing clubs throughout Canada and the US. Rhapsody (Napster) praised the album, calling it one of their favorite cover albums.
