REINHARD ‘DICKY’ TARRACH is a distinguished drummer and producer and no stranger to making chart-topping music. Initially, Dicky saw success with ground-breaking rock band the Rattles between 1963-1967. They were largely successful in Germany, playing to massive crowds as a support act for the Beatles on the German leg of their 1966 tour. In 1968 they formed Wonderland and released the single ‘Moscow’ reaching No.2 on the German charts.

"In the year 2017, who better to carry forth the Chicago blues beacon other than John Primer and Bob Corritore? Both have pasts steeped in the blues tradition and each has consistently represented their fundamental roots of the Chicago blues idiom throughout their illustrious careers. Individually, Primer and Corritore command a towering presence, but in combination the power of their blues is unstoppable. Their 2013 Delta Groove debut Knockin' Around These Blues is living testimony to this fact.

"Big Wheel" is my new album for 2020. 10 new tracks and I've added 3 tracks which were released last year on EPs or compilations… I thought I'd road test a few things, and these three came through. They've all been remixed, remastered or mucked about with in some way for this release. Everything else is brand new.As usual I've enjoyed putting this stuff together - always an adventure. I have a few new toys to play with - generally things that cost very little but make an interesting noise.. such as a new pickup on my 9.99 Oxfam acoustic, and notably a new pick-up on my very first guitar, which has waited patiently in the attic for 56 years for its chance to shine.There's a bit of an Elmore James theme running through this album, for reasons mentioned below. (And just because he was so damn good).

La muerte de Tommy DarDar el año pasado, causó revuelo en el mundo del blues pues dejó un vacío difícil de llenar. En 1999 su disco “Fool For Love” llamó la atención de los fanáticos del blues, certificando lo que muchos ya sabían, que DarDar era un gran compositor, tenía una voz poderosa y además era un destacado intérprete de armónica. En 2001, comenzó a grabar un proyecto que se interrumpió por problemas financieros. Tras su fallecimiento, el baterista Tony Braunagel y otros amigos de DarDar recordaron ese disco sin terminar y se dieron a la tarea de buscar esos registros y darles un final feliz. Fue así como se reunieron para sacar adelante este proyecto como homenaje al amigo caído y lo bautizaron “Big Daddy Gumbo”, como era conocido DarDar al interior del blues. Este álbum se convierte en un homenaje al blues de los pantanos y sobre todo a DarDar y su familia, dejando completamente cerrado ese círculo musical que fue su vida completa.
