John Wesley Harding marked Dylan's return to acoustic roots music after having made three albums of electric rock. The album was incredibly well-received by listeners and critics alike, and the song "All Along the Watchtower" became one of Dylan's most popular numbers after it was covered by Jimi Hendrix the following year.

his 12” features two reggae remixes each of “Jokerman” and “I And I” by Doctor Dread. The original versions of both tracks appeared on Dylan’s ‘Infidels’ album with Sly & Robbie as the rhythm section. The two “I And I” remixes were previously released on ‘Is It Rolling Bob: A Reggae Tribute To Bob Dylan’ (2003) while the ‘Jokerman’ remixes are newly commissioned and previously unreleased.

The record features popular Christmas tunes, hymns and carols including: "Here Comes Santa Claus", "I'll Be Home for Christmas", "Silver Bells", "Hark the Herald Angels Sing" and many more. Dylan gave all of the royalities he received to charities including Feeding America, the World Food Programme and Crisis in the UK. "Christmas in the Heart" reached number 1 on Billboard's Holiday Chart and the Billboard Folk Album chart, number 9 on the Rock Album chart, and 23 on the Billboard Albums Chart.

"Blood on the Tracks" was Bob Dylan's fifteenth studio album and is considered to be one of his best albums of his career. Full of songs about heartache, anger, and loneliness, the album has since been regarded as the standard for a confessional singer-songwriter album. After its release, "Blood on the Tracks" reached #1 on the Billboard 200 charts and #4 on the UK Albums Chart, and eventually went double-platinum in the US. The single "Tangled Up in Blue" reached #31 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Quite possibly the worst album by either Bob Dylan or the Grateful Dead, the live Dylan & the Dead completely squanders its promise. Working from an intriguing selection of songs it includes staples like "Knockin' on Heaven's Door" and more obscure gems like "Joey" the Dead and Dylan contribute listless, meandering versions that are simply boring. Both artists have done much better reportedly they have done better together, according to various bootleg fans but Dylan & the Dead is a sad, disheartening document.

For those interested in the transition from acoustic to electric, this show is the seam, and for those who are die-hard fans, this is another welcome item in the official catalog.
