Giorgio Giampà is a film music composer who scored films in Mexico, Sweden, Russia, Canada, Italy, France, Germany, the Emirates Arab United, Austria and the U.K. which were presented at Festivals such as Toronto, Venice, Berlin, Locarno, San Sebastian, Busan, San Francisco, Sao Paulo, Gothenburg and more.Giorgio was nominated at the Italian Golden Globes (Il Sud è Niente) and at the Italian Golden Ciak (Fräulein, Il Padre d’Italia), won the Best Score Awards at the 27th Kinotavr Open Russia Film Festival (Razbudi Menya) and at the 27th Sulmona Film Festival (Ragazze la vita trema) and was selected for Berlinale Talent Campus 2011, Moscow Generation Campus 2013, Reykjavik Transatlantic Talent Lab 2010 and other workshops.G. studied Music Composition, Film Music and Cinematography, played drums and guitar in several indie rock bands and played 200 shows around Europe, North America and Japan.

Among Modern Jazz greats, Paul Desmond (1924 - 1977) had one of the most characteristic sounds on the alto saxophone. His clear, radiant, yet warm tone paired with a pronounced melodic lyricism led Desmond himself to compare it to a dry Martini. Born as Paul Emil Breitenfeld in San Francisco, California, he became world famous as a member of the Dave Brubeck Quartet, whose biggest hit "Take Five" he composed. The Californian sound of the Brubeck Quartet, catchy in all its quality compared to the more aggressive East Coast Jazz, exactly matched the taste of the predominantly white college crowd of the '50s, and the quartet soon reached cult status through its Campus Concerts.

On Aug. 1, 1966, a sniper rode the elevator to the top floor of the University of Texas Tower and opened fire, holding the campus hostage for 96 minutes. When the gunshots were finally silenced, the toll included 16 dead, three dozen wounded, and a shaken nation left trying to understand what had happened.
