The third installment in Colin Cotterill's highly engaging 'Dr. Siri' Paiboun series.
Dr. Siri Paiboun is summoned to the mountains of Huaphan Province, where for years the leaders of the current communist government hid in caves, waiting to assume power. Now a major celebration of the new regime is scheduled to take place, but an arm is found protruding from the concrete walk laid from the president's former cave hideout to his new house beneath the cliffs. Siri must supervise the disinterment of the body attached to the arm, identify it, and determine the cause of death.
The autopsy provides some surprises, but it is his gifts as a shaman that enable the seventy-three-year-old doctor to discover why the victim was buried alive and to identify the killer.

Before Bad Brains, the Sex Pistols or even the Ramones, there was a band called Death. Punk before punk existed, three teenage brothers in the early '70s formed a band in their spare bedroom, began playing a few local gigs and even pressed a single in the hoped of getting signed. But this was the era of Motown and emerging disco. Record companies found Death's music - and band name - too intimidating, and the group were never given a fair shot, disbanding before they even completed one album.

Born in Calgary, Alberta and now residing in Vancouver, BC, Tegan and Sara have sold over 1 million albums and collected 7 Gold certifications, 1 Double Platinum certification, 3 Juno Awards, 2 Polaris Prize nominations, and a Grammy nomination. "Love You to Death" is the band's 8th studio album and once again finds the group working with producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Sia, Beck, Ellie Goulding). This release follow up to Tegan and Sara's pop breakthrough album "Heartthrob".

KINTSUGI, which follows 2011s GRAMMY Award-nominated CODES AND KEYS marks Death Cab for Cutie s first new album since the departure last year of founding guitarist/keyboardist/producer Chris Walla. Recorded in Los Angeles with Rich Costey (Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Interpol) behind the board, the album takes its title from the Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with precious metals like gold, silver, and platinum, highlighting cracks rather than hiding them. As such, kintsugi represents a compassionate aesthetic philosophy in which damage and wear are embraced as part of an objects history.

Next month, Now That’s What I Call Music will release a genre-spanning ‘Era’ release called The Sound of the Suburbs 1977-1980. In 4CD form, this set offers 80 tracks encompassing punk, new wave, reggae, ska, mod, post-punk and electronic. They were all initially released between 1977 and the end of 1980, and artists include The Undertones, The Clash, Elvis Costello, The Boomtown Rats, The Jam, The Cure, The Police, The Specials, The Beat, Japan, Jonathan Richman & The Modern Lovers, PIL, Devo, Skids, The Vibrators, XTC, John Foxx, The B-52s and many more. Full tracklistings for the formats are listed below. Whether this ‘Era’ release is the start of a new series or a one-off remains to be seen.
