Schenck's
Ceres, Bacchus and Venus was the first Dutch-language opera ever to be performed (from November 1686 to February 1687 at the Stadsschouwburg Amsterdam). The arias were published separately as
Eenige gezangen uit de opera van Bacchus, Ceres en Venus, op. 1 (Amsterdam 1687). For this reconstruction Camerata Trajectina have used parts of Schenck's op. 6,
Scherzi Musicali (1698) to replace the lost overture and dances.
