Fontane

Tony Fontane was a popular American recording artist in the 1940s and 1950s who gave up his career in popular music to become a gospel singer following a near-fatal car accident in 1957. Due to his high, clear tenor voice and unrelenting sense of purpose, he became one of the world's most famous gospel singers, performing in concert halls and churches around the globe and recording many albums for RCA. "Tony Fontane Sings of Decision-Comfort-Assurance" has been originally released as RCA Victor LPM/LSP-3800, in 1967.

No one would say at first listen, but Johnny and the Rivals, with that image of elegant mobsters that explode in the promotional images, is a Quartet of blues rock that actually comes from Switzerland.

This 2CD set includes duets with Perry Como & The Fontane Sisters and tracks from the individual artists as well.
A wonderful variety of material was recorded between these two artists and both “Hoop Dee Doo” and “’A’ - Your Adorable”shot to the top of the billboard charts. There are some lesser known Perry Como tracks available here and ballads such as: “Surprising” and “Give Me Your Hand”. Plus five tracks from The Fontane Sisters which have never been available on CD before including the popular “Candy Kisses” and “Look For The Silver Lining”.
