Sgt. Nicholas Angel is just about the perfect copper: honest, reliable, and dedicated to public duty. The only problem is that he is too good. His arrest record is so good that he is making everyone else look bad so he suddenly finds himself transferred to the picturesque village of Sandford. There he not only finds that the police force is less than ideal, but that there is in fact very little policing to do. The odd drunk and a few lads with a can of spray paint are about all there is to worry about. He becomes friendly with Constable Danny Butterman, who just happens to be the station chief's son. Suddenly however, there is a rash of murders that leads him to believe there is a massive conspiracy to keep the village clean and inoffensive.

Hot Flash Heat Wave is the brainchild of four best friends from Davis, California. During their high school years, they met and bonded through participation in a small, tight-knit community of musicians that put on a slew of DIY shows in parents’ garages and local venues, at the time each playing in a variety of different projects. After leaving Davis for various cities in California, the four eventually reunited in San Francisco to write and record under the same roof. Their debut LP Neapolitan, released in 2015, quickly launched them to the forefront of the Bay Area music scene with its candied hooks, fuzzy guitars and tunes reminiscent of The Smiths gone new wave.

Hot`n´Nasty existiert bereits seit Beginn der 90er Jahre und gehört zur ersten Liga der deutschen Blues- und Rockszene. Die Band wurde Ende 2009 mit dem deutschen Rock- und Pop-Preis in den Kategorien „Bestes Rhythm & Blues Album" (1.Platz) und „Beste Rhythm & Blues Band" (2.Platz) ausgezeichnet.

We’re thrilled to present this, our first full length album, with some of our favorite musicians, and the culmination of four years of work! It started in early 2019 with recording sessions not long after the band was formed, but then interrupted by the pandemic. That difficult time became part of our journey, creating and releasing our “Quarantine Tracks” EP in 2021. As the world opened up, we got back to work on this album, with a clearer identity and desire to reconnect with dancers and music lovers. We hope this music gives you as much joy as it was to create. Heartfelt thanks to our friends, family, and fans for helping us along the way!

“The Finest Hour” was recorded October 19 & 20, 2019 at the Dakota Jazz Club in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Live and unretouched, this collection of songs is a tribute to the glorious array of music on the radio across the United States in 1945 at the end of WWII and celebrates artists from Bing Crosby to Billie Holiday, Bob Wills to Doris Day.
