The first compilation of the facebook page Doom Jazz / Dark Jazz / Funeral Jazz, a new tribute to these sounds with some of the best bands of the genre and currently active. Compilation edited by Adriano Vincenti (Macelleria Mobile di Mezzanotte, Detour Doom Project, Senketsu No Night Club, Last call at Nightowls) with the help of Maria Ruvalcaba Uribe (Last Call in Nighthowls) and Sam Obscure (Midnight Radio - Noir Jazz).

In the spring of 1959, when Louis Armstrong took the stage in Belgium to play the concert captured on this DVD, he had much to smile about. The irrepressible trumpeter and singer had cut his first records with King Oliver’s Creole Jazz Band some thirty-six years earlier. In the interim, he had completely redefined the possibilities of both instrumental jazz and popular singing. His concept of what it meant to swing had become the very essence of jazz rhythm, and his ceaseless ability to create coherent melodic improvisations over a given set of chord changes had reconstructed the very nature of the jazz ensemble.

Shostakovich jazz music? Taken at face value, this CD is nothing of the sort. Shostakovich's lively and endearing forays into the popular music of his time were just that, and light years away from the work of real jazz masters such as, say Jelly Roll Morton or Duke Ellington And yet they do say something significant about Shostakovich's experience of jazz, as a comparison of these colourful, Chaplinesque Jazz Suite Suites with roughly contemporaneous music by Gershwin Milhaud, Martinu MartinJ, Roussel and others will prove.

On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of their first double-disc album, this box of 5 CDs recounts the musical adventure of the P'tits Loups du Jazz troupe: choirs of children aged 6 to 14 accompanied by professional jazz musicians under the direction of Olivier Caillard, choir conductor, jazz pianist and pedagogue. Traditional and modern jazz, Caribbean or Brazilian music and original compositions, are the support for the creation of texts by children, who appropriate this repertoire alive and too rarely played for them. A 6th bonus CD, includes the instrumental parts of some songs of the Little Wolves whose great success "Mamadou had a toothache", as well as an unpublished Christmas song and several titles of the Olivier Caillard repertoire from the catalog of the Enfance label and Music.
