It is not possible to listen to Sonero: The Music of Ismael Rivera by alto saxophonist Miguel Zenon without triggering thoughts of another altoist, Charlie Parker. Like Parker, Zenon has that quicksilver processing of thought and expression, but more relevant is that both artists can render any style of music into the jazz idiom. Where Parker dealt with Latin music in a macro sense, Zenon gets down to a micro level. It's only natural for the San Juan born, Guggenheim and MacArthur Foundation fellowship winner. He has featured the music of Puerto Rico in multiple projects and recordings. His previous release Yo Soy La Tradicion (Miel Music, 2018) was quasi-classical jazz suite honoring the folk traditions of Puerto Rico's music, religion and culture, written for string quartet and saxophone.

Miguel Angel Cortes is as soloist-and in his role as guitarist accompaniment to one of the existing quarries Flamenco. Flamenco Today Award 2011 'Best guitar accompaniment'. It is the usual guitarist and singer Esperanza Fernández Arcángel. He has collaborated with artists like Luz Casal, Diana Navarro, Carmen Linares, Enrique Morente, Estrella Morente, Miguel Poveda, Chano Lobato, José Mercé Jose de La Tomasa, Chiquetete and El Pele, among others. In this paper 'Calvary of genius', who adds his third solo, offers a range of flamenco styles with collaborations singing Marina Heredia, Archangel and Macarena de la Torre, among others.

While pianist Luis Perdomo has earned plenty of praise for his work in Latin jazz settings with different artists such as percussionist Ray Barretto and saxophonist Miguel Zenon, classifying him as a "Latin jazz pianist" would be a mistake. Perdomo may earn his daily bread playing piano with many Latin luminaries and legends-to-be, but his work with saxophonist Ravi Coltrane and his own albums place him at the vanguard of modern jazz, in all of its expansive and inclusive glory. Universal Mind is the Venezuelan-born pianist's fourth release as a leader, but it marks the debut of this compelling trio. Bassist Drew Gress and Perdomo built a chemistry and musical bond through their shared experiences in Coltrane's outfit, but the real story here is the connection between Perdomo and drummer Jack DeJohnette. The two push, prod and propel one another to great heights, while creating music that's thought-provoking, powerful, and unique.

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of Frank Sinatra's groundbreaking and highly successful album, Duets, Capitol/UMe will release a newly-remastered Sinatra Duets - Twentieth Anniversary 2CD Deluxe Edition bringing together the original Duets, and the follow-up Duets II, together in one deluxe package. Included on the 2CD deluxe edition are two never-before-released recordings: 'One for My Baby (And One More for the Road)' featuring Tom Scott and 'Embraceable You' with Tanya Tucker plus the rare bonus tracks 'Fly Me to the Moon' with George Strait and two versions of 'My Way' one recorded with Luciano Pavarotti and the other with Willie Nelson.

Saxophonist David Murray continues his cross genre initiatives on this undeniably exciting, 2003 release Now Is Another Time. With this effort, the artist enlists his longtime running mates, trumpeter Hugh Ragin and baritone saxophonist Hamiet Bluiett to complement a huge cast of Cuban musicians. This large ensemble Latin jazz extravaganza packs a mighty blow, from beginning to end. Here, the band churns out radiant, multi-layered horn arrangements atop the Cuban masters' sweltering percussion grooves and the soloists' blaring exchanges.
