One of the most notorious and successful bands of the hair metal era, Los Angeles rockers Mötley Crüe burned through the '80s in a blaze of drugs, debauchery, and platinum hits. Their glammed-out image, hard-partying reputation, and a knack for melding pop hooks to heavy metal theatrics took the band to the top of the charts repeatedly throughout the '80s, with records like 1985's Theatre of Pain and 1989's Dr. Feelgood bringing them to sold-out arenas around the world.

Darts were a nine-piece British doo-wop revival band that achieved chart success in the late 1970s and early 1980s. With four singers, five backing musicians and a repertoire that mixed '50s nostalgia with punky '70s energy, Darts had it all. Hits like `Daddy Cool', `Come Back My Love', `The Boy From New York City' and `It's Raining' established them as ones to watch, while they were so hot live that in 1978 they sold more tickets in the UK than any other act. This package contains all the hits, stage favorites and more. This collection features highlights from across four hit albums including two Top 10 albums as well as six Top 10 singles. The Darts is still in the Top 500 selling list according to the Guinness Book of British Hit Singles.

Early in his solo career, Sting defined himself as a man of taste, choosing to work with jazz musicians instead of rockers. Inevitably, this meant he walked the thin line between sophisticated pop and adult contemporary, but he did it with grace from 1985's Dream of the Blue Turtles to 1993's Ten Summoner's Tales. Unfortunately, Fields of Gold: The Best of Sting doesn't illustrate what a deft trick he pulled off with that quartet of albums…

Big Joe Turner (born Joseph Vernon Turner Jr., May 18, 1911 – November 24, 1985) was an American blues shouter from Kansas City, Missouri, United States. According to the songwriter Doc Pomus, "Rock and roll would have never happened without him." While he had his greatest fame during the 1950s with his rock and roll recordings, particularly "Shake, Rattle and Roll", Turner's career as a performer endured from the 1920s into the 1980s. Turner was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987, with the Hall lauding him as "the brawny voiced 'Boss of the Blues'"

Just as the title says, the 2001 Deep Purple DVD, New, Live & Rare: The Video Collection 1984-2000, collects all of the legendary British metal band's promo videos as well as scattered live clips from their 1984 reunion up to the time of this DVD's release. As longtime fans know, Deep Purple's true glory days lay in the early '70s, when they dropped such classic molten metal releases as In Rock, Fireball, and Machine Head on an unsuspecting world. And while its bandmembers have kept Purple alive well into the new millennium (despite line-up juggling), most of the newer material on New, Live & Rare doesn't hold a candle to the band's earlier classics.

Anthrax is an American heavy metal band from New York City, formed in 1981 by rhythm guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker. As of April 2017, the band has released 11 studio albums, several other albums, and 26 singles, including collaborating on a single with American hip hop group Public Enemy. According to Nielsen SoundScan, Anthrax sold 2.5 million records in the United States from 1991 to 2004, with worldwide sales of 10 million…
