The 29-year-old internationally acclaimed Norwegian saxophonist-composer Marius Neset takes another bold step forward into the art of contemporary extended ensemble writing on his debut recording Lion for ACT. It’s a collaboration with the renowned Trondheim Jazz Orchestra, a project-based collective that since its formation in 1999 has toured Norway with stellar musicians that include Chick Corea, Pat Metheny and Joshua Redman. Neset originally received a commission to compose for the orchestra in 2011 for a concert at the 2012 Molde Jazz Festival. “After the premiere in Molde, these compositions felt so special that we decided to record this album and play many more concerts with it.” he says.

Winner of the Norwegian grammy award (Spellemannsprisen) for best jazz record 2017 - is the up-and coming Norwegian composer and double bass player Bjørn Marius Hegge project, consisting of five of the finest jazz musicians in Scandinavia. They invite the audience into the melodical vibe that existed in the 1960s with catchy grooves, humourus phrasings mixed with strong compositions and playful improvisations. Even though the music is highly influenced by jazz legends such as Cannonball Adderley, Ornette Coleman and Charles Mingus, the band collectively drives their music into a different direction where each and every member are allowed to freely express themselves.

Like Father, Like Son is the Christiania Mannskor's fifth release on the LAWO Classics label. Christiania Mannskor, established in 2009, is Norway's professional men's choir. It is made up of 18 singers under the direction of conductor Marius Skjolaas. The ensemble has regular engagements in Oslo and countrywide and has performed at the invitation of, among others, the Norwegian government and parliament.

The soundtrack of the 1927 film Napoléon, directed by Abel Gance, was the first film soundtrack ever composed. It was written by Arthur Honegger, a close collaborator of Abel Gance, and consists of twenty minutes of music. In the 1990s, Marius Constant composed a film score for a screening in Paris of the Kevin Brownlow cut, here performed by the composer himself conducting the Orchestre Philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, enhanced by the original compositions by Honegger.
