Michael Schenker (born 10 January 1955) is a German rock guitarist, best known for his tenure in UFO, in addition to his solo band. He first rose to fame as a founding member of the Scorpions, then achieved fame in the mid 1970s as the lead guitar player for UFO. Since leaving UFO in 1978, he has been leading the Michael Schenker Group in various incarnations. He is the younger brother of Rudolf Schenker, who is still a guitarist with the Scorpions. His career has had many ups and downs, still, Schenker continues to perform and record and to maintain a following, and is called "a legendary figure in the history of metal guitar."
World Wide Live 2004 was recorded at the Metalmania Festival in Spodek, Katowice (Poland), in March of 2004. The set list features an even split of UFO and Michael Schenker Group (MSG) classics, along with two new songs from the 2003 MSG album Arachnophobiac.
"Instrumental Intensity" contains some of Michael Schenker's greatest instrumental recordings, culled from his many Shrapnel releases. The instrumental arena is where Schenker's soaring melodies and riveting solos really shine. A brilliant composer with a master's technique, Schenker's performances are a celebration of rock guitar in its purest form.
German guitarist Michael Schenker, known for his distinctive guitar work with Scorpions, UFO and MSG, recently joined the cadre of Shrapnel guitar giants with "The Unforgiven". This CD captures some of Michael's best playing to date, in a classic hard rock/metal context true to his roots and his fans. Featuring phenomenal vocalist Kelly Keeling and powerful drummer Shane Gaalaas, "The Unforgiven" smokes with red-hot rockers like "Rude Awakening", "The Mess I've Made", "Pilot Of Your Soul" and more. Schenker shows no signs of slowing down.
"Be Aware Of Scorpions" is the seventh album released in 2001 by the German hard rock band Michael Schenker Group. The rhythms are crunchy and the solos classic Schenker, as the album as a whole continues in the direction forged by "The Unforgiven". Japanese Nippon Crown label 14-track CD album, including Japanese-only bonus track 'Ride The Lightning'.
