Ritual's third album came out in 2003 and marked a turning point for the band. Since 2000's Superb Birth, lead singer Patrik Lundström had raised his international profile thanks to his association with Kaipa's comeback. The group's signing to InsideOut Music also meant more money for the recording sessions, and it shows. Think Like a Mountain is very much in your face, drums leaping and guitars shredding. The music also bends toward the InsideOut sound, dropping the more complex elements of Ritual's music to focus on shorter, more accessible rock anthems. It means that the music loses part of its Scandinavian prog atmosphere and comes closer to, say, Spock's Beard, but Ritual manages to make the transformation convincing…

Our favorite dirt rockers from Australia deliver another powerful addition to their long list of prior convictions with Mammoth Mammoth’s Mount The Mountain. Its cover features a barely clad desert siren peering over her terrain to either seduce or render a hellish curse upon those poor souls she lures. Aptly, Mammoth Mammoth’s new Album, echos the same ‘one-two’ combo, with eleven power-fisted tracks that threaten to blow your mind - and smack you in the ear hole! Stompers like Sleepwalker, Spellbound, Hole In The Head and Kickin’ My Dog, gate crash there way into a sweaty, raucous, out-of-control, house party that’s been thrown by bunch of zombie bikers - and Mikey Tucker has just taken over as DJ. Then there’s the unsettling menace of songs like; Epitome, Wild and Dead and title track, ‘Mount the Mountain’ - that lead us blindfolded into a hellish inferno of psyched-out riffs, and debauched, fist-pumping anthems. Here you realize that danger is your savior, and that fear is the party starter.

This 1970 release "climbed" to #17 with the classics Mississippi Queen and Theme from an Imaginary Western . Also includes an unreleased live version of the Woodstock ode For Yasgur's Farm! Mountain was the combined forces of Leslie West, a gigantic guitarist/vocalist who had played with New York garage-psych rockers the Vagrants, and Felix Pappalardi. Pappalardi had a slightly more impressive track record, coming from the modern East Coast folk-rock movement (the Youngbloods), before he applied his production skills to Cream. Through this, Felix never really stopped playing and eventually formed Mountain.
