For a band that originated over thirty years ago and has seen the comings and goings of three lead singers and countless band members, Mystery retains one of the most consistent sounds of any progressive rock group. Whether that is a good thing or bad thing is a subjective determination, but as is the case with bands in other genres such as Boston or Katatonia — what you hear is what you get, album after album after album…

The music of Mystery has gone to a more progressive rock direction after their first two releases. They have reached with "Beneath The Veil of Winter's face" a wider audience of prog fans. And the time was right after four more albums to release a live DVD in Netherlands April 2016…
Mystery were formed by ex-members of respected Heavy Metal outfits Ostrogoth and Crossfire. Mystery recorded a single “She Likes Double Trouble” for the soundtrack to the movie “Koko Flanel”, reached #9 in the Belgian national charts.

A project of French Canadian guitarist/lyricist/producer Michel St-Père, Mystery took form in 1986 as a six-member outfit. They released a self-titled album in 1992 that generated quite some interest across Canada. Unfortunately, a year later, their drummer Stéphane Perreault lost the use of both his legs; but his strong determination and passion for his craft inspired him with a new and unique approach to drumming: he became one of the first drummers to play from a wheelchair without the help of any pre-programmed sequences. In 1995, St-Père founded label Unicorn Records under which the band released a second album titled "Theater of the Mind" and which boasted airplay both in North America and Europe. In 1998, they released their 3rd album titled "Destiny?", which features six guest musicians.
This band recommended to fans of Saga, Kansas, Journey, Rush and to fans of melodic rock in general.
