David Bowie is the self-titled debut album by British musician David Bowie, released in 1967 via Deram Records. Its content has little to do with the type of music that later made Bowie famous, such as folk rock from Space Oddity or glam rock from The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. New Musical Express editors Roy Carr and Charles Shaar Murray said: “Listeners accustomed to Bowie's image in the seventies will probably find this debut album shocking or just plain weird.” guises would probably find this debut album either shocking or else simply quaint "), and musical biographer David Buckley described it as" a record equal to the mad woman in the attic".

In 1998, Universal released "Wives and Lovers/Dear Heart & Other Great Songs of Love", which contained two complete albums - "Wives and Lovers" (1963, originally released on Kapp) and "Dear Heart & Other Great Songs of Love" (1965, originally released on Kapp) by Jack Jones on one compact disc.

Deluxe digitally remastered and expanded two CD edition. Having emerged from the ashes of beat boom hopefuls Mike Sheridan and The Night Riders, by late 1966 Birmingham band The Idle Race were looking for a new guitarist. The successful applicant was local teenager Jeff Lynne. By the time the band signed to Liberty Records, the prodigiously-talented Lynne - several years younger than his new colleagues - had been promoted to frontman status, blossoming as the band's chief songwriter while also taking lead vocals. After 'Skeleton And The Roundabout' had attracted much airplay but fallen just short of the charts, the band cut their debut album. Issued in October 1968, the idiosyncratic The Birthday Party gave notice of a major new talent on the British pop scene.

AVID Jazz continues with its Four Classic album series with a re-mastered 2CD release from John Graas, complete with original artwork and liner notes. John Graas began his musical education in the classical arena before becoming interested in the field of jazz music.

Wood seen both as an inspirational element of nature and as a working material. In both cases the imagination leads us to imagine other dimensions. Consider, for example, the wood grain, the ripples of of a tree’s barks. But also think about the thousand objects of craftsmanship that can be created with wood, the vibrations transmitted by it through a huge variety of musical instruments.

Bassoonist Eric Van der Veer Varner enjoyed a rich and varied musical career. Varner was the principal bassoonist with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra from 2004 through 2015, appearing as a soloist with them on numerous occasions, his playing with them described as being “of ineffable liquid beauty.” Previously, Varner held positions with the Ann Arbor Symphony, Michigan Opera Theater and Sarasota Opera Orchestra. He performed in numerous summer festivals, including the Bellingham Festival of Music, the Michigan City Chamber Music Festival and the Glickman-Popkin Bassoon Camp.

Angel View is an assemblage of urban and musical debris, somewhere between a wordless live radio play, enacted film soundtrack and instrumental theatre, composed by Juliana Hodkinson.

Just Say Noël (A Gift For You From Geffen Records) is a compilation CD released by Geffen featuring artists on their roster around 1996. It features music from Sonic Youth, Beck, The Roots, XTC, Southern Culture On The Skids, and many more.

After Mozart, the 2001 Grammy winner for Best Small Ensemble Performance, by Gidon Kremer and Kremerata Baltica, brings together the music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (and his father, Leopold), with three contemporary works inspired by him. The works included, by contemporary Eastern European composers such as Alexander Raskatov, Valentin Silvestrov and Alfred Schnittke, invoke Mozart’s memory in ways direct and more subtle, and the more familiar Mozart pieces sandwiched in serve to bring the listener to a new way of hearing the more familiar pieces. The disc is an attempt, in Kremer’s words, to “set Mozart in the frame of our own time”.
