Nasser Bouzida a.k.a 'The Bongolian' releases his third album 'Outer Bongolia' on Monday 5th November 2007. This is Nasser in his element as he embarks on a psychedelic musical trip to the outer regions of the Funk galaxy, taking in spaced-out heavy Bongo rhythms and Latin Soul along the way – all 100% Original Dancefloor Rhythms. (Instruments featured include the Hammond, Bongos, Synthesisers, Vibes.) Written, arranged, performed and produced entirely by Nasser at his Ramshackle Studios on analogue 8 track, the album was mixed by Nick Terry (Klaxons, SMD) at The Premises in Hackney, London.

The terrorist is by no means a new actor on the world stage. However, thanks to startling developments in military and communications technology, this perennial threat to freedom and security has taken a quantum leap forward during the past thirty years. In many cases, these vicious and determined men and women have supplanted nation states on the globe's "most wanted" list!

This collection is evidence that there really are bargains on the compact disc market. Both albums presented here, Ahmad Jamal at the Top: Poinciana Revisited and Freeflight, offer excellent portraits of the great pianist in transition at the end of the '60s and beginning of the '70s. Both feature Jamal's great rhythm section of bassist Jamil Sulieman Nasser and drummer Frank Grant. The first date was recorded in in 1969 at the Top of the Village Gate in New York City. Its reveals Jamal playing in a more driving, percussive style, though he keeps his utterly elegant chord voicings intact.
